Subscribing to communities from beehaw, lemmy.ml, and a few others stuck on "subscription pending" in c/[email protected]

Beehaw usually works fine for me but lemmy.ml seems to be problematic.

Seems to be mostly communities from lemmy.ml having this problem.

I've tried subbing to some other communities however the status stays pending for quite a long time. Could this be because they are on other instances?
