If I get a single shot it's Nestle for sure.

Multiple shots? bp, shell, exxon for obvious reasons.

Your Blocked User list is stored within the instance you're on (for you it's lemmy.ml), and not shared to anyone else. Note that the people you block can see your posts through various ways due to the nature of ActivityPub.

The people banned from communities and instances are visible to all instances. You can see the modlog on lemmy.world as a reference, where moderation from lemmy.ml communities are visible on its modlog.

I've always thought gaming piracy is losing out a lot on comfortability (like how movie pirates has sonarr, music pirates have lidarr), but this is also very cool.

I wonder if I will stay on sway after cosmic releases

Legally it is. On their piracy audits Microsoft only counts the amount of licenses bought and the amount of computers using Windows. They do not care about how it is activated per each computer. They even offer big companies a way to host their own key management system to keep track of licenses they need to buy easier internally.

Cryptocurrencies are a tool, similar to how money is a tool. You can't blame money itself for all the scummy shit done using it, similarly for cryptocurrencies.

Now whether it's about their impact to energy consumption is a whole other deal that I too dislike about it, but it's a really good anonymous funding tool without being under the influence of payment brokers.

Fun fact:On Super Mario 64, bob-omb's sound comes by the game modifying Mario's "here we go" sound. That means Charles Martinet also voiced bob-omb.

Ever since HowToBasic's vegan recipes taught me how to cook good vegan meals, I've slowly been leveling up on this chart. My aim is to reach level 5 this year.

The Turkish president has hit out at military graduates who took a pro-secular oath during their graduation ceremony, promising that those behind it would be “purged” from the military.

Speaking at a conference for Islamic schools in the northwestern city of Kocaeli on Saturday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan described those involved as “opportunists.” He added that an investigation was underway and vowed that ”the few impertinent individuals responsible will be purged.”

...

Turkey has become more overtly religious under Erdogan, shedding some of the secularist traditions of the original Kemalist republic.

Turkey’s military has traditionally viewed itself as the guarantor of secularism, which has resulted in a series of coups. It led three takeovers between 1960 and 1980 and toppled a conservative government in 1997. However in 2016, an attempt to overthrow Erdogan and his religious-conservative administration was foiled and thousands of people were purged from the armed forces, the judiciary, and other public institutions.

Couldn't find international news coverage of this, so I'll do my best to translate it:

CHP spokesman Deniz Yucel has made a statement about his SIM card getting duplicated and WhatsApp account being hijacked by malicious actors:

"While the methods used by malicious actors are not fully clear, my phone number was taken over in 19 August 2024 around 14:40, via malicious actors pretending to be me to request a new SIM card for my 25 year old number. The SIM card on my phone has been automatically deactivated; the malicious actors first changed my Whatsapp profile picture to President Erdogan, then sending the people I've added or to the visible groups pictures of Alpay Ozalan captions similar to 'would you like Alpay Ozalan to hit you too?'(*), Soon after discovery, we've sent a warning message on social media channels about this incident and contacted to people I've added through WhatsApp, and soon after got the account terminated. We've been in official talks to fully resolve this situation.

Note that this issue isn't caused by any security vulnerability caused by me or the party. This attack was done because of my position within the party. If malicious actors can do this to someone within my position, we can assume no one's communications and personal data is truly safe; but I am leaving what to think of this up to the public. I will be suing my operator turkcell for all damages, and will report this incident to the prosecution's office to pursue anyone involved in this attack.

Don't doubt that we will follow this all the way through and ensure similar incidents won't happen against any of 85 million Turkish citizens."

(*) The message is a reference to the previous parliament crisis in Turkey

CHP Sözcüsü Deniz Yücel, Whatsappı'nın nasıl ele geçirildiğini açıkladı. Yücel, kimlik bilgilerinin ele geçirilip yeni bir SIM kart çıkartıldığını söyledi. Yücel, Turkcell'a dava açacak.
