Swedish buy-now-pay-later company Klarna, whose CEO once bragged about its automated customer service AI bots doing the work of "700 full-time agents," is now in deep trouble. The fintech outfit is facing net losses of $99 million for the first quarter of this year, CNBC reports, which is more than double compared to the same period last year.

The company had already paused its highly anticipated IPO in the US last month, which once valued it at over $15 billion. And it's all particularly noteworthy because of how CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski previously bragged that he hadn't hired anyone in a year, following a doubling down on AI tech.

Tesla’s brand image has also been negatively impacted in the area of ethics. He ranked last on character in the Harris Poll and also performed poorly on morality and citizenship. A slew of controversies—from Musk’s reckless Nazi jokes to corporate culture issues and Autopilot incidents—have fueled the perception that Tesla is not just a struggling company, but one fundamentally out of touch with consumer values. The company is making sweeping changes with incentives and the promise of a $25,000 electric car, but regaining trust may require more than just a new model.

On April 29, after Amazon reportedly considered displaying an additional tariff charge next to the listed price on its Haul platform, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt at a press briefing held up a photo of Amazon chairman Jeff Bezos and called the move a “hostile and political act.” Trump, whom a senior official described as “pissed,” called Bezos to complain, saying the company’s founder “solved the problem very quickly.”

Amazon said that although it was considering displaying the tariff cost, the plan was ultimately not approved and “not going to happen.”

I like to come into these comments because it gives me a fresh batch of new "centralists" to tag.

My pro open-source teacher in HS pushed for all of us to use the handful of Linux computers and recommended GIMP over Photoshop. He even said we can download GIMP at home for free.

Back then, searching for GIMP gave you bondage suits.

And because we were immature fuckwads, we played real hard into that joke, to a point where the principal had to send a letter to parents about how to actually find free open-source software with links.

I don't know what half those things are but I laughed at the words "Breast Mints". No idea what it means.

I'm actually pretty happy for this enforcement. I think a lot about accessibility, and car owners that do this are causing a lot of issues.

You may also know from my post history that I'm also a frequent poster in the police problem community, so this is a rare thumbs up to those folks.

I gotta admit, I was pretty amazed when they built Polygon out of scratch. It was just passionate game writers who is wanted to share the content they like reading. The first year was full of great writing. Then it kinda faded into the background, which isnt a problem.

Seeing how that happened gives me hope that a new website filled with passionate game writers will sprout up.

The best PM I ever had was playing zone defense and just deflecting every possible thing that could disrupt the creative team. Let us cook for more than a sprint.

Bad ones are constantly coming up with new requests, mid-sprint adds, don't really have answers, and create more blockers than they resolve.

Don't need flashy-ness to send the right message.

Officer, please,” Randall pleaded again as he struggled to get to his feet.

Then Iversen threw Randall to the ground again. He landed on his back several feet away, but the momentum brought him back to his feet. Randall began to turn to run away from Iversen, who had already pulled out his gun and was pointing it at Randall.

Get down,” Iversen yelled as he fired one shot, striking Randall in the chest.

Randall continued to run down the street but collapsed face down. Iversen radioed for help and then tried to render medical aid, but Randall died on the pavement. The bullet had torn through his ribs, lungs and heart, according to autopsy records.

No crime.

Cop stopped him because he saw him run a red light?

Then just murdered him.
