Mass Mind Brain Damage

Not just personal brain damage, not just one individual brain damage.

Brain damage of entire groups, mass mind brain damage. Mass man brain damage.

Elon Musk, richest man in the world, admits that billionaires actively manipulate "Mind Virus", allows "punching down" and won't allow "the little guy" to "punch up" on Twitter / X media empire systems / censors / promotes "Stand Up For The Big Guy" ideals.

I’ve never seen anything in the US more complicit towards fascism and autocracy than the US media.

yes, including social media. People think adopting Donald Trump methods of dehumanizing those you disagree with, Donald Trump Twitter-think and Tweet-length mental attitudes is actually addressing the problem... in reality, it is joining in with the bonfires of goodness. Instead of a "we are under siege mentality" of posting a thread to the top of every social media platform every 6 hours since 2015 when it was clear Donald Trump and Putin wanted to fulfill their "Conservative International 2013" politician aims, people have just mocked and gone along with the total mockery media values of MAGA / Donald Trump Twitter-tweeting thinking.

I’ve never seen anything in the US more complicit towards fascism and autocracy than the US media.

People are entirely unable to defend and resist absurd comedy, surreal humor, surreal absurd "jokes', they all end up joining in / jumping on the bandwagon with the mocking and mockery.

Neil Postman was correct in 1985: “When a population becomes distracted by trivia, when cultural life is redefined as a perpetual round of entertainments, when serious public conversation becomes a form of baby-talk, when, in short, a people become an audience, and their public business a vaudeville act, then a nation finds itself at risk; culture-death is a clear possibility.” ― Neil Postman, Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business, 1985

Happens here on Lemmy too. Seems like that’s how the Internet of today works

That's why I'm pointing it out: twitter behavior has taken over the White House and all social media platforms.

[–] [email protected] -1 points 1 month ago

that's the point, it isn't just Reddit users who mimic Donald Trump.

This is all spelled out in 2014: https://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2014/12/31/bbcs_adam_curtis_on_the_contradictory_vaudeville_of_post-modern_politics.html

They are all mimicking Surkov governing, Russia.

If it were only Reddit and not the entire American population behaving in LOL LOL LMAO amused at Elon Musk, JD Vance, RFK Jr, Donald Trump. Rudy was removed from this year's stage, but Elon Musk sidekick and his second stage of DOGE performers has done much more to turn the USA into a total joke on the world stage to a population who finds it all so entertaining / amusing.

Everything is Twitter reaction comments in year 2024 and year 2025. Everyone is behaving and mimicking Donald Trump mannerisms and behaviors of Tweet-think, Elon Musk behaviors of Twitter-think. Americans can not resist copying the behavior of White House performers. Status Symbols like JD Vance and Pope together is comedy gold to all the people in USA.

That's why all these people keep going to the top of society / federal government, they have their finger on Internet consumers of junk memes and antics audience laugh-track comedy. A 78 year old Reality TV star is America's great taste in meme-joke Twitter-reaction engagement.

  1. Because many people replaced religion with politics and are obsessed with it now. "Oh look at those kittens." "I heard insert politician owned kittens once, fuck those kittens!!" https://old.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/1k484c0/pope_francis_has_died_the_vatican_camerlengo/mo84y0b/

  2. It's honestly comical. I get that reddit is mostly American but does this ever get tiring - https://old.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/1k484c0/pope_francis_has_died_the_vatican_camerlengo/mo850wl/

  3. It’s a problem all over Reddit, no matter what the subject is people are constantly in a rush to make jokes…very unfunny ones at that… - https://old.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/1k484c0/pope_francis_has_died_the_vatican_camerlengo/mo85baq/

  4. Ikr instead of focusing on this man's accomplishments they find a way to make this about American politics - https://old.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/1k484c0/pope_francis_has_died_the_vatican_camerlengo/mo85oz3/

"As Huxley remarked in Brave New World Revisited, the civil libertarians and rationalists who are ever on the alert to oppose tyranny "failed to take into account man's almost infinite appetite for distractions." In 1984, Orwell added, people are controlled by inflicting pain. In Brave New World, they are controlled by inflicting pleasure. In short, Orwell feared that what we fear will ruin us. Huxley feared that what we desire will ruin us.

This book (1985) is about the possibility that Huxley, not Orwell, was right.” ― Neil Postman, Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business, 1985

"My dad predicted Trump in 1985 – it's not Orwell, he warned, it's Brave New World. The ascent of Donald Trump has proved Neil Postman’s argument in Amusing Ourselves to Death was right." - Andrew Postman, February 2, 2017

Clown Population. The clowns inside the White House are only a small fraction of a total society of mock for mock, reactionary mocking, clowns. The entire nation is a “basket case of clowning around” on social machines / HDTV media machines / mockery.

People like to play a game of psychological denial and say ONLY MAGA is the clowns, only the White House is the clowns. It’s the entire population of Untied States of America.

What are you doing encouraging no-identity social media Bluesky short-length messages? What are you doing promoting reactionary thinking and anti-intellectualism? What are you doing adopting the social media behaviors of Donald Trump and Musk?

SpaceX / Starlink does work for the USA Pentagon. he isn't against war.

It's sad that we don't teach the history of symbolism / society media consumption patterns. Multimedia presentation of Fox News is way more televangelism than a dusty old book named The Bible. We just let advertising and marketing media act upon the population and people behave as if there are no side-effects or conflicting influence systems. We could educate everyone on the world-wide patterns of this and the history, but we do not. We behave somehow as if the Middle East / Levant is a role model of people fighting it out over their favorite story patterns.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 years ago

essentially that is what mythology has been for humanity. Too bad now we just let advertising borrow the techniques without education the population how it works.

It is not even a mistake, it's some pretty mind-fucked up on part of @[email protected] to jump to such a conclusion. crap

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 years ago

I think timestamps of files would be one of the easier things, and try to track back to postings and comments that references the upload... ideally the logged-in account (which is the standard install of lemmy, only logged-in users can upload to pictrs)

Yes. odd how people think sharing CSAM is why people would post here, instead of actually tracking down and prosecuting those sharing CSAM. Details about the users who sharedl CSAM content, such as timestamps - would help identify the offenders for prosecution.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 years ago

It sounds like you’re encouraging people to share CSAM images found, which is obviously not the intent of this tool.

Yes, that is in fact the context.

Context: "which is obviously not the intent of this tool. "

it is not my intent to share the images, nor is it the context of the tool.. Sharing details about the users, timestamps - would be the obvious context.

curl 'https://lemmy.world/api/v3/community/list?type_=Local&sort=Old&limit=1&page=250000&show_nsfw=true'

Returns a result for page 250,000 - and if you edit that number +1 it still returns the same final item in the list. Does this on all the sorts I tried. I am not getting this behavior on lemm.ee or lemmy.ml

With page limit at 50, it ends up returning the final same list of 50 no matter what page number you increment past the final page. This could be causing some front-end apps to endlessly load the list.

the lemmy-ui interface seems to be having the same problem: https://lemmy.world/communities?listingType=Local&page=250001

I found one post from 12 hours ago that describes the problem: https://lemmy.ml/post/2650814 - but that's all I've seen. Content is way down on lemmy.ml with nothing coming in from .world

EDIT: seems that lemmy.ml is getting some content delivered to .world, but .world communities seem islands on .ml that only have local new posts/comments.
