So I know Hegseth is a drunk and maybe a wife beater but why is he being made SoD? Like was he a general or a ranking member on the defense committee or something?

I remember when Obama said if you like your doctor you can keep them. That was pretty viral. Or Pokemon go to the polls

Jesus and his self sacrifice was a disaster to poor peoples politics in western civilization

Chapo is definitely not the first pod I'd recommend in this day and age, unless you wanted to be entertained listening to and relearning old stuff id recommend the episodes 100-300 because I remember being ravenous for their content back then. Specifically the Deficit Rag episode, nowadays I'd more likely recommend blowback or fivetofour as good leftist breakdowns of contemporary and historical reality.

I'm not responding to anything you specifically wrote but Chapo, to me, was always about how the elites of this country think, how poisonous it is, and being able to tell these people to drink piss on twitter. Its a very specific type of show, there arnt a lot like it in big media, and the main part of the show is reading these half wit shitheads's articles and screaming at them matt-joker

Its a show for people privileged enough to understand liberalism, see the faults in it and crystalize the critique of the ruling class. It has been pretty good at that, worse somewhat recently, but if anything the show needs a new set of juice, a new host; that Alex guy was pretty good with the bits while Matt was out but there needs a new line, a new edge.

Elliot Rodger was always the weirdest to me. Dude was straight up modelesque and if he was just chill and goofy he definitely would have been getting some, instead he let his insecurities totally define how he acted. Fucking nuts.

Some liberals even call themselves socialists because they saw a facebook meme saying the fire department is socialist.

I keep thinking of the Muhammad Ali quote when he refused the draft for the Vietnam War.

Every estimate of the environmental damage of the oil and gas industry in America has been incredibly underestimating of stray emissions, wells that have broken free of their caps, oil leaks, water contamination, etc.

Unlike McDonalds theres not always a great replacement for Starbucks, its expensive just like McDicks, but if you want coffee treats fast you gotta go to starbucks,.

Its still pretty common for people to give starbucks giftcards, I stfg everytime I go to Starbucks its because people send me gift cards for it. I dont like Starbucks.

I think were both on different sides of the same dialectical reasoning, I wasnt refuting your point: I'm saying it wasnt a big ask ideologically because functionally, materially, it was already reality and I think what youre saying is that it was a big ask because while it was already reality it was still a shibboleth.

But I also think there wasnt really any consequences to be damned. We already know how far theyre willing to go, theyll do anything for material impact, shibboleths be damned.
