Also, just the phrasing of being forced to sign a """"voluntary"""" departure form or face indefinite brutal imprisonment after being kidnapped in international waters is so insane.

Even if this goes through, it would take many years for anyone to develop a supersonic passenger jet because no one has been working on a design for one because no one has seriously floated the idea of lifting the ban. I doubt they're even worth it to the airline companies, since they're now essentially banks first and foremost, thanks to them all cashing in on having their own credit cards, who just happen to have airliners.

Just a disclaimer that Linux phones likely aren't going to be viable for a lot of people due to battery life and compatiblity issues (especially with banking apps, if you use those). If what you're looking for in a Linux phone is actually a phone OS that you own and have control over with no innate spyware (but can use the google play store if needed), a Pixel with GrapheneOS is probably the closest thing available. Even if you need the google play store, there's a lot that can be done on GrapheneOS to cordon off the google stuff from the rest of your device. There's a youtube channel called Side Of Burritos that makes excellent and concise videos about using and setting up GrapheneOS. Ironic that you have to buy a google phone to get away from google, but unfortunately the dream of an actual Linux phone is a very long way away, if it ever even materializes.
