No more capeshit or terf wizards. They consumed different media and updated their reference pools.

What media would you want that to be?

It wouldn't change anything, but the memes and stuff would be from something else.

I think it would be fun if Sailor Moon reentered the mainstream and people drew comparisons between hillary and Usagi.

It would melt my brain, but at least I could laugh at the art that comes from it.

I prefer it when they use Harry Potter and MCU references because it makes it easier to identify garbage opinions.

If I had to pick, though, I’d like it if they started referencing literal children’s books, the kind with pictures and like two lines of text per page. Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, Peter Rabbit, the Busytown books, etc. If they’re going to act like children, it would be less jarring if they went all the way with it.

I think there’d be something funny about them adopting telenovela references for political analogies as an awkward way to do superficial identity politics. Like they wouldn’t even watch the shows, they’d just disseminate in their circlejerks the kinds of comparisons to make between characters and real life politicians and then act like leftists and conservatives not getting it is because they’re racist.

also, "khaleesi is coming to westeros" to describe hillary was actually a great line from Obama('s translator) back in 2015, I still think it's funny.

Also (and this is me coming out as a liberal and a asoiaf fangirl) I think tywin is a good comparison for Putin bc for both of them, their fans hype them up as stone cold strategists- but a lot of the time they act out of revenge/vindictiveness and/or fear of losing face, to their own detriment.

Autobots versus Decepticons, especially the new continuity where Decepticons are largely a proletarian revolution that got hijacked by the selfish motivations of the movement's leader and where Autobots were arrogant colonialist status quo warriors that were just asking for the internal contradictions to topple them.
