Volcel police can't arrest me, I have diplowlmatic immunity owl-pissed

I am sick of conservative weenies saying tattoos are ugly or self-mutilation or whatever. They're dorks, losers, dweebs even. Tattoos are ART. Hot, sexy ART. Anyone who says otherwise is a repressed nerdlinger that needs to remove the broom from their ass. I see a dude with some sweet tattoos and I'm like damn he's pretty as shit.

I just don't have the confidence in my interests to get one of them rendered on my skin in semi-permanent fashion

I would definitely look back in like two years and cringe at it

I see my older tattoos as contracts with my younger self to be kind and not judgmental towards that younger self. And I think of new tattoos in a similar way. I have an obligation to have just enough foresight to not fuck myself over. So no face tattoos. Nothing edgy or profane just for the sake of it. Nothing political, although that may change now that it’s been almost 8 years since I did a major ideology hop. Did I need several tattoos related to the golden ratio on my leg? No, but they’re also not harmful to me. My younger self did it. They held up their end of the bargain. And that’s kinda nice to know.

Ok but what if younger you was an absolute dickhead

I'm getting one that says

"FRAGILE

STORE THIS WAY UP"

There’s your problem. Don’t get like tattoos about how much you love Farscape or whatever. Nerd tattoos and even political tattoos are, IMO, almost universally boring and ugly. I’ve had great success viewing tattoo artists as illustrators that I’m commissioning to come up with their own interpretation of a concept or image I’ve provided. I never get what I initially envisioned and that’s a good thing because I choose artists who are creative and skilled enough that I love what they come up with. Tattoos are collaborative between the artist.

This is my fear as well. I refuse to do anything I might regret so that later I can look back at my life and regret not doing more. deeper-sadness

I debated getting a tattoo for years and years and years and eventually pulled the trigger after seeing a cool photo of a fox jumping into snow, and got that posed fox as my first tattoo like a week later. Utterly meaningless on a personal level, has nothing to do with my interests, but damn if I ain't mirin that fox doing his lil leap

Please don't put any identifying marks on you, don't make pigs' job easier.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 years ago (3 children)

Or just get them in places that are easy to cover up when you're doing things that pigs don't like

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago

[–] [email protected] 20 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

i like it when theyre cohesive and not just a smattering of irrelated concepts tbh. kinda like yokai tattoos that some of the yakuza get, its all around a theme

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Smattering is cool if they are like small and like in various spots on the body. But full sleeve or back pieces are pretty hot.

I don't want tatoos, but I love them on others. I feel the same way about long hair, and breasts.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 years ago

There are dozens of us!

[–] [email protected] 19 points 2 years ago

Why were you pretending they aren't?

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 years ago

Had a partner in university who had a full sleeve on one of her arms and it was gorgeous.

Tattoos are extremely attractive and once again I stand with the owl.

My wife just got her first tattoo after years of inside fighting with the pressure and trauma of her controlling mom. Im really proud of her and happy that she's happy with her first tattoo.

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 years ago (2 children)

is it like a points system? what percentage of my skin should I tattoo to become not ugly?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

From my experience if they have more than 50% of their visible body covered with tattoos an average white guy can evolve into an above average white guy

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 years ago

i don't think i have $5,000 in my art budget

Been considering getting a tattoo on my left forearm for a while now. An infinity ouroboros.

Knowing there are hot local owls in my area who might be wooed by this inj furthers my resolve

it really varies with quality and taste.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago

I don't want one but good ones? Yes please. Who wouldn't want to look at literally fucking art on the people around them

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago

Stick and poke anchor on the inside of my bicep, I usually forget it's there and when I see it I'm always like 'dang that looks fresh' in spite of it truly looking like a child with a sharpie did it.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago

Ha, you have never seen my tattoos. They are mid at best

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 years ago

Sorry to say but I don't like tattoos at all. Why do all the kids have them, I don't understand.

They changed what it was and now what's it seems weird and scary to me. marx-doomer

I got my first tattoo to celebrate a year on HRT. Money's tight rn but I can't wait to get more. Piercings too

[–] [email protected] 12 points 2 years ago

mocking the purity of the human form, or better yet accentuating it, is indeed very hot

You are due for reeducation by the volcel vanguard, owl

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I always wanted to get a cutaway diagram of the bones and musculature of the forearm on the inside of my forearm.

But a tattoo like that is complex and expensive, and I don't have the money or trust in any local tattoo artists to get it done.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 years ago

Once my coworker gets their shit together and starts practicing Im gonna get them to make me the worst tattoos ever
