Ukraine does it now Israel. It's completely absurd.

It's so fucking weird, they act like they're completely removed from the actively engaged war they are in and tweet as if it's prestige television. What the hell is going on?

narrative control, psych warfare, "cyber presence and capability"

i'm not convinced they have control of the narrative, so much as the media pretends they do. meaning i do not believe the masses at large consent or condone to any of this. Israel, with how bold-faced and bad they are at it, seem to be entirely losing control of said narrative at the moment.

but yeah i guess they are just seeing it as "media" and they have to be part of it, instead of putting any thought at all into what it actually looks like. if it showed up on the nightly news or whatever, fine that could eventually become a narrative, but with input coming in from the other side it really makes them look like fucking babies

of course, but thats what it is. Ukraine was probably the most televised/accessible war footage in forever. They embarked on a media blitz which largely worked until October 7 lol. Now Israel is trying to use the same tactics, make sure their name and their narrative isn't necessarily accepted but known and available, and able to be pushed/spread/referred to by others.

Since late 2010s australia at least has been making a big fuss about the "cyber" domain of warfare. I'm sure they're all leet haxors and all but this to me reads just as much as recognition of value/reach of social media/internet. You don't have to reach everyone, only the ones that'll listen. And there's a lot that'll listen. Uhh USDF twitch channel yolo swag 420noscope

a rave, right next to a concentration camp.

alternatively, the west collectively signalled they were ok with the israeli occupation, and everyone forgot about ukraine

If Kojima didn't get fired from Konami, MGS6 would have had a "share your war crimes with your favorite social media network" mechanic.

Rah rah rah good guys kill bad guys isn't it awesome how good guys kill the bad guys? Look at how weak and frail the bad guys are and how easily we destroy them. Look at how the bad guys are big stupid idiots. Oh wow look at how our brave heroes are fighting the unhuman enemy! Aren't you glad our hero survived? Empathize with them.

Will you help the effort, citizen? Protect our blood and soil and way of life! Accept no lies from our enemies.

That site is filled with fascists. Why wouldn't they do that?

i guess i give too much credit to the intelligence of the military involved. it would seem there's a lot to lose with this sort of media campaign and very fucking little to gain.

cultural/political hegemony and its consequences.

They are removed, there's an sub-industry of those brand management companies that are behind the "xD so relatable" corporate twitter accounts but for countries. So there's a "social media manager" or something that's posting attempting to manipulate that emotions of people using morbid war footage

What the fuck is up with countries posting ~~their bombings and battles~~ on Twitter?

It always reminds me of when Ukraine posted that "Azov warriors are greasing the bullets with lard against the orcs" thing and bruh how did you think this made you look good.
