It would be huge if the EU could get behind that. Unfortunately, I don't think the proposal will make it past the upcoming EU elections. Sweden's far-right government is already murmuring about dropping climate targets completely.

Imagine voting on a guy for EU commission member for climate that worked for Shell and was a supporter of winning oil from Dutch sources...
