Disrespectfully: This is /progressivepolitics not /liberalzionism

Go defend a genocidal Apartheid elsewhere.

No because the entire Israeli government is responsible. Bernie tried to shove all the blame on Netanyahu to protect the settler colony from criticism.

Netanyahu is not special. He represents everything Israel always has been.

The word in this instance is "Israel" instead of "Netanyahu".

Zohran Mamdani is a progressive candidate similar to past Bernie Sanders. He is running for mayor in New York against big establishment figures such as Andrew Cuomo.

Zohran has a massive online hype campaign behind him right now.

NYC budget ran out

The nearly 5,000 soldiers in Los Angeles detained one man, briefly. Was that worth $134 million and a constitutional crisis?

Wonder what he needs to compromise on...

Politicians lie, and the people around them do too. When it’s convenient – when the whole world is pulsing with revulsion, for example – they begin to reveal flavors of the truth.

The Biden administration lied more than most, its public-facing members particularly. Its policy in Palestine was to embrace the Israelis in a “bear hug” – to smother them with love. And there’s thin cover for a genocide beyond lies.

In the interview, the former spokesman shared his personal view that it is “without a doubt true that Israel has committed war crimes”. Asked if that had been true when he was employed by the government, he suggested that lying is just part of the job: “You are a spokesperson for the president, the administration, and you espouse the positions of the administration. And when you’re not in the administration, you can just give your own opinions.”

Miller isn’t alone. The Biden-era spokespeople for the genocide included the White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and the deputy state department spokesperson Vedant Patel, as well as Jake Sullivan, a primary policymaker for an addled president, who represented the actual center of power along with John Kirby, a former admiral, and Antony Blinken, the former secretary of state. The group spent the period from October 2023 to January 2025 lying to an anguished public. They lied scornfully (Jean-Pierre) or gleefully (Miller), mawkishly (Kirby and Blinken), or blandly (Patel and Sullivan). And they did it every day, for 15 months.

I have seen UK, Germany and the US. Haven't seen France in there yet but I could have missed it.

Since Israel bombed the Iranian oil refinery and airport, Iran has started targeting Israeli power plants, ports and other infrastructure.

LE BOURGET, France/JERUSALEM, June 16 (Reuters) - France has shut down the four main Israeli company stands at the Paris Airshow for apparently displaying offensive weapons, in a move condemned by Israel that highlights the growing tensions between the traditional allies.

A source familiar with the matter told Reuters on Monday that the instruction came from French authorities after Israeli firms failed to comply with a direction from a French security agency to remove offensive or kinetic weapons from the stands.

Three smaller Israeli stands, which didn't have hardware on display, and an Israeli Ministry of Defence stand, remain open.

Go look up why DNA tests are banned in Israel

Public transport ereased the footage because nothing noteworthy must have happened during those messages of Pogroms in Amsterdam.

While it’s true no president or political leader has ever used social media quite as prolifically as Donald Trump, no recent secretary of defense has ever weaponized X or any other platform, quite like former Fox & Friends weekend host, Pete Hegseth.

Hegseth is actively reshaping the Pentagon in his own image since taking over, prompting a social media policy that has taken a dramatic turn towards supporting Hegseth’s every move and public appearance.

Part of that has been the resurrection of the Pentagon’s so-called “rapid response team”. Originally the name of a public relations brainchild of former secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld to combat what he saw as Iraq war disinformation, the new team seems to have a similar mandate according to its X account: “Fighting Fake News!”

Two women had filed complaints linked to the November 2023 incidents. One woman said she was assaulted at Centraal Station after shouting “Free Palestine” toward a group of Israeli supporters headed to the stadium. She reported being hit, spat on, and pulled by her hair.

According to her complaint, police were present but failed to intervene. The OM confirmed there were officers at the location but said they were engaged in general surveillance, not responding to any specific report. The incident was not officially registered by police, and no record of it exists in their system.

Dutch prosecutors have allegedly dismissed multiple criminal complaints involving Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters after surveillance footage from Amsterdam’s metro system—potentially key evidence—was discovered to have been deleted due to equipment replacement and short retention policies, according to NOS.

The Public Prosecution Service (OM) confirmed it has dropped two separate investigations into violent incidents involving Maccabi supporters that took place around a match against Ajax in November last year. The incidents occurred in the metro system, where confrontations broke out between groups of supporters and counter-protesters. Footage that could have supported the allegations was reportedly not preserved, the OM said Sunday.

Transport company GVB acknowledged that the video recordings were lost because recording devices were replaced on November 12—five days after the unrest in the city. "Unfortunately, this necessary replacement, combined with a limited retention period, resulted in the footage no longer being available," a GVB spokesperson said. The company added that although the standard retention period is one week, recordings are sometimes saved for less time.

In the hours after Israel attacked Iran, food shipments and distribution in Gaza stopped and a French-Saudi summit meant to pave the way for wider recognition of a Palestinian state was postponed indefinitely.

International pressure over starvation and civilian killings in Gaza had apparently dissipated in little more than the time it took for the smoke of the first missile strikes to clear over Tehran.

Israel’s military moved fast to declare Iran its top priority, with the battle for Gaza relegated to second place. That shift was echoed in foreign ministries and newsrooms around the world.

Israel has escalated its ongoing conflict with Iran, striking the world's largest gas field and other energy infrastructure as part of a two-day assault that had otherwise largely targeted sites and personnel tied to the Islamic Republic's armed forces and nuclear program.

Iranian semi-official media outlets, including Tasnim News Agency and Fars News Agency, reported on Saturday that an Israeli drone struck Iran's South Pars Gas Field, which is shared with Qatar, where it is known as the North Dome Gas Field. The attack was said to have targeted Phase 14 refineries of the Iranian section, with at least one unit reportedly on fire, leading to a suspension in operations.

Footage circulating on news channels and social media appeared to show flames and smoke rising from a section of the complex, which is located in the Kangan area of Iran's south coast Bushehr province.
