And there it is. In my own state I keep hearing how medicaid cuts will get people to see the light, no it fucking won't. These people are so deep in the cult they won't get out no matter how much they're fucked.
It's not a binary thing. Some will notice and fall away, or get closer to doing so. Others will dig in harder. The base of true MAGA believers is not that big. Even a few defections can have an outsized influence on support.

The only reason Missouri has anyone in congress that's not a Republican is because of cities... and if they could figure out how to get rid of them, they'd do the same. And I know the commentary will come up on gerrymandering, but when it comes to state level elections there isn't the gerrymandering problem and yet people still vote Republican overwhelmingly in the state.
I think "MAGA incapable in acknowledging they're wrong" would be a more concise and broadly correct title.

This is the toughest part for me. It's HIS "big beautiful bill," all their reps and senators voted for it, hyped it up, hammed it up with smiles and limp-dicked handshakes. And when they find out what's in it, they invariably refuse to acknowledge the bare objective reality. It is MADDENING that it seems impossible to get these people's heads out of their asses.

Fair enough, personally I count voting to keep the government open back in March as voting for this bill.
They knew what was coming and what was happening. Negotiating concessions to avert shutdown was their best possible chance to do literally anything and they didn't even bother.
