In the mid-month of winter, cold are our feet. Buy you some slippers? Drink a hot treat?

Edit: EOFY sales are also on. I’m deciding if there’s anything I genuinely could use and putting it in the basket to think about.

I don’t think anyone saw the last thread so if you think your pump lotion has run out, even after adding a little water and shaking, open it and look inside. It seems the pump bottle is very inefficient packaging and there’s quite a lot left. I initially planned to cut the bottle open to decant but might check whether an old Cetaphil cap fits. If it does I can just store the bottle upside down and squeeze the last of it out. Another cap might work, try what you have.

I bought a better pair of supermarket slippers with thick rubber soles to keep the cold floor from seeping through.

I’m also back to trying to find a safe Linux iso to make an old computer usable again. It has a disc drive so it can be used to watch dvds and function as a temporary backup if my current one breaks.

I’ve put the heater on a few times but am mostly managing with extra layers, electric blanket, hot water bottles and hot drinks. Still not looking forward to the bills.

When I get close to the end of a bottle I buy a new one and use it for a while. Then I carefully balance the old bottle upside down with the cap off on the new one and let the contents of the old bottle drain into the new bottle. Really helps getting rid of that feeling of being wasteful!

That’s a great idea!

Save on heating costs by only heating your largest room(or favourite room).

If it does not have doors hung in all doorways, get some extendable showercurtain-rails and hang medium-thick curtains from them. Closes off the room and lowers your heating bill.

Another good suggestion is to get bubble wrap to put on your windows to help with insulation.

A thick blanket works well too
