Depends on where this Ren Faire is tbh, the faire will draw from the local populace

That said there will be a fuckton of theater kids there and they tend to have very positive attitudes towards trans people, at least in comparison to most other subsets of the population

Every Ren Faire I've been to has been super queer-friendly. If you're in a somewhat accepting area, it's a pretty good chance the Ren Faire will be (mostly) safe.

My advice is to go with a buddy or two if you can.

I reckon some areas may warrant more concern than others but overall renn Faire types are generally liberal, accepting, and can be pretty over the top themselves sometimes. I can't speak to that specifically as a cishet lad but I certainly wouldn't stress about it. I know I've seen some "obviously" trans folk before and nobody seemed to give a fuck.

I consistently see every kind of person there. Last year I saw a young woman in an absolutely wild dragon cosplay with stilt-like heels with hooves on them, storm troopers, some medieval drag, and a man wearing jeans and an Infowars t-shirt all in the same place.

Never seen a fight or even angry words, everybody is usually there to have a good time and be weird.

Only fair to note that I'm a tall white guy, so milage may vary.

A t4t couple i know fequently has a lot of fun at ren faires, but they also tend to buy lots of maces and double-bladed axes, which may or may not reduce the odds of people giving you negative attention.

i suppose it might vary place to place, but i've always had a lovely time at the northern california one, and there's always been plenty of other visibly trans people as well. you should absolutely do it.

I'd assume pretty dang chill. Like, they're public events, so there's always a chance there's gonna be some asshole somewhere, but I'd say the crowd as a whole would definitely lean queer-positive.

Queer positive, probably at least tipsy, and probably very fond of medieval weaponry.

The Michigan ren faire is incredibly inclusive

Depends on the Ren fair, trans buddies of mine are frequent visitors, performers and enjoyers of them for decades and rarely had they problems (read on the level of every day stuff, with drunk people a bit more; rarely less). But the ones where they had problems they often had problems continuously.

This is speaking about German city states and some Ren Fares outside, but also for Danish ones.

For negative experiences: In Germany you have a couple of nationalist rigth wing folk people on some Ren Fairs, who try to connect with "Pagan" "Eso" aesthetics to the environment. This might not be the case so much in other places.
