As Apple prepares for WWDC 2025, the company must address its AI blunders and rekindle its relationship with developers to stay relevant.

I, too, hope Apple gets back in the game, instead of pouring so much focus on a barely viable product known as AI. The pushback from end users, advocates every time new developments are released and falsely marketed as being usable is pretty high. It's clear Apple can't make even the most shoddy idea of 'AI' work in a sane way 100% of the time; as a real product would take a lot of research, time, and money to properly construct. They are trying to do this on a few year timescales, when realistically it might be more than 20 to 40 years of hard work. When scientists still don't understand the origin of sentience or have a full understanding of our own brains...How can AI researchers and developers be silly enough to imagine themselves able to build sentient, reasoning artificial intelligence?

Man, Techbros really fucked this whole AI thing up, just for some short term gain and hoovering up all the data with minimal penalty! 😑

"Investors want AI!"

"But... but AI is bullshit. What are supposed to...?"

Apple listening to shareholders burned it so hard. But, it's a good thing because it reminds them even Apple isn't immune to historic f-ups that can damage it.

Is this supposed to be humorous? There's no article, it just links to the picture?

EDIT: This article is spot on. And it makes me sad. And there aren’t even any better alternatives for my use case.

The worst part is Apple's AI attempts are tame compared to other companies trying to force it in your face instead of something sitting around that you can choose to bring up. But the whole thing is a big mess and I hope they focus more on dev relations than this stuff.

The AI stuff just gets in the way. I can't get it to come up the few times I've wanted to try it, but every time I don't want it, it seems to find its way onto the screen. The only thing I have found cool was the ability to make Memoji, but it's basically broken; you can't effectively give it an image to base off of, and not once have I gotten it to create anything close to what I was after.

Totally messed that up. Sorry! Fixed.
