It had been speculated for a while - now it's official: Erik ten Hag will follow Xabi Alonso as head coach at Bayer Leverkusen.

Very interesting to follow imo. Can he return to his Ajax days?

We'll have to wait and see. While his stint at United hasn't done his career any favours, he's still rated highly in the Netherlands and apparently also in Germany. Perhaps he can find his mojo again and shake off the United stigma.

He did well in Utrecht and was also U21 manager in Bayern Munich while Pep was there, and I think was well liked and highly rated. It's not impossible his United tenure was a blip. Wouldn't be the first manager to have failed there for no other reasons than United being a clusterfuck.

I think Ruben Amorim is already having second thoughts about his choice to move to United. He had a great thing going on at Sporting and could have moved to a much better club than United if he had been a bit more patient.

Definitely. Proof will be in the pudding next season but everyone could see it from a mile away that he shouldn't have taken the gig midseason.
