Prosecution: "We didn't do it."

Defense: "Well, we have a recording of the call, and we sure didn't record it."

Prosecution: "Uhhhh, there was a warning before the call that it would be recorded."

Defense: "Well, on the recording, no such warning exists..."

Prosecution: "Ohhhh, that recording... Ummm, yeah, that was an intern, and they stopped listening as soon as they realized it was wrong. Pinky promise."

If you can't trust the attorneys, who can you trust?

Man this dude just keeps getting hits to the system. This shit is spread wide open because one man decided not to be a fucking coward. He has put his life and freedom on the line. This is the definition of a hero.

Humanity needs more Luigis for the cause of equality, the rampant capitalism has gotten way out of hand. It’s insane that 1% of the population owns 50% of the stock market.

It’s insane that 1% of the population owns 50% of the stock market.

And actively uses that ownership to shut down any trading they don't like and leverage the money they gain to buy up assets and change the stock market rules so they own even more. Give tRump time and we just might see more Luigi's in the country, and they may include expansion to a political few as well!

Give tRump time and we just might see more Luigi’s in the country,

100 days not enough?

0.068% of the population owns 1.5% of the stock market... It's the Norwegians with their pension fund!

Funny how nationalization of natural resources and investing for the future can enrich a whole country instead of a few billionaires...

another huge problem with the stock market is when they privatized retirement you have no thought investment. Huge amounts of the market value is due to there being nothing else to do with the money. Most of the extreme wealthy can't do anything with their money so they throw it in and then retirement can't be used until retirement so its thrown in. Only a really small set of investors are analyzing companies for actual profit potential. Its why the whole thing is such a house of cards now.

I agree with you except that Luigi is innocent and being railroaded by the system. He's a hero because he's enduring cruel and unusual conditions and not letting it break him. The system needs him to be guilty because otherwise it becomes open season on CEOs, so they plan to publicly kill an innocent man.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 month ago

We should just do open season on CEOs anyway

Well, which is it? It's not Schrodinger's eavesdrop. You either did it, or you didn't. All this backpeddling just makes it sound like you definitely did but are trying to cover it up.

All this backpeddling just makes it sound like you definitely did but are trying to cover it up.

Because that's obviously the case. They not only admitted to doing it, they even sent the defense a recording that PROVES it.

Rule 1 of getting away with illegal covert surveillance: don't send the recordings to the victim.

[–] [email protected] 53 points 1 month ago

Man the prosecution is fucking this up. Keep going!

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 month ago

Sounds like a mistrial

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 month ago (2 children)

To be honest, this sounds like the defense attorneys are setting up anything they can to muddy the procedures and greeting the case thrown out.

Realistically, it's probably the only way for this trial to have an outcome other than Luigi getting a death sentence, because that's surely what the prosecution is going for...

[–] Viking_Hippie 25 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Except for the prosecutors voluntarily sending the recordings TO the defense.

Apparently, they thought that breaking the law is allowed as long as you tell your victim afterwards 🤦

I swear, anything involved with this administration is like watching the Upper Class Twit Of The Year awards. Luigi’s prosecutors systematically fucking up like this is one of the few silver linings in this whole shitshow we find ourselves in; I, for one, will enjoy it, because it’s one of the few things I can genuinely laugh at these days.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

They sent the recordings to the defense since that has to happen in order to be able to use evidence in court.

[–] Viking_Hippie 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Which isn't exactly very helpful when said evidence is illegally obtained and thus inadmissible..

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 month ago

There's actually a reasonable explaination for this too.

The prosecution is incompetant and criminal.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 month ago

I'm kind of curious what the "if the glove doesn't fit" moments will be

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 month ago

Luigi did nothing wrong.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 month ago

Oh? So they have proof of this, no...?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 1 month ago

No chance of a fair trial now.
