Finished up Yoshi's Island. Fantastic game and shows off how far ahead Nintendo was back then. My biggest complaint is that near the end there were way too many autoscrollers and maze levels. Autoscrollers can be fine but maze levels are always the worst part of any Super Mario game

Overall not as good as Super Mario World (the GOAT), but I'd put it in the same tier as Super Mario Wonder. If you have any interest in platformers it's definitely worth playing even if you're not into #RetroGaming

YI is a really great game as long as you don't go for 100%. There are some truly heinous optional levels.

If you're into the romhacking scene at all, I highly recommend Flutter. It's equal parts difficult and fun

@[email protected] thanks for the recommendation! I haven't gotten into any sort of romhacks for the SNES but I really need to. So many games, so little time

I played it somewhat recently too, and I agree at the end it was getting tiresome. I wish it ended a little bit sooner. Great game overall though, I love the mechanics.

Maybe not the crying 🤣

@[email protected] Glad to see another SMW fan. I always felt like people all felt SMB3 was the best and don't get me wrong, SMB3 is incredible, but SMW just took what made it great and made so much more with it. Or so I felt anyway.

I wanted to like Yoshi's Island so much. After all, it was the sequel to SMW (many unofficially call it SMW2.) But I don't know, it just lacked something...
