"There's no reason to build this in Guantánamo unless you want to do things you don't think you could get away with on the U.S. mainland. It's easy to put tents in Florida. But they're putting them in Cuba. Ask yourself why."

Yeah I’m getting concerned that we’re gonna see shit out of there eventually that makes “war on terror”-era Gitmo look like a fuckin Sesame Street episode. It’s gonna be… really, really not good. Think “untermensch”. Trans and brown people first, and they’ve got a big list of “undesirables”.

I remember my (then future) FIL saying offhandedly that Obama was having FEMA build mass graves or something for us.

Wonder what he thinks of Trump's gitmo actions?

99% chance he's fine with it. It was bad because Obama was doing it (because he was black and a dem), but now it's good because Trump is doing it. There's no catching "conservatives" out with hypocrisy. They don't care. They just want power structures with themselves at the top and everyone else at the bottom and will contort their brain into whatever shape is necessary to justify their viewpoints.

On paper Guantanamo is 45 square miles, but most of that is water. They could run out of space really fast. It could get really ugly and that is before hurricane season.

I feel like I remember this quote coming from Hasan. The first time I heard him say it, it hit me like a ton of bricks
