This is why I love my hens.

Like, I had no idea. I didn't even want chickens. One day my wife comes home with a 6-pack.

Now tho? I could spend a whole day sitting outside, stoned, just watching them live their life. It's like a soap opera with miniature dinosaurs.

I don't think you can see it in the video, but it is literally the first sentence of the article...

A man who was believed to be part of a peacekeeping team for the “No Kings” protest in Salt Lake City shot at a person who was brandishing a rifle at demonstrators.

"Brandish" is a specific word. It implies aggression.

brandish 1 of 2 verb bran·dish ˈbran-dish  brandished; brandishing; brandishes transitive verb 1: to shake or wave (something, such as a weapon) "menacingly brandished a knife at them"; 2: to exhibit in an ostentatious or aggressive manner "brandishing her intellect"

If I were to brandish a rifle at you, you would have every right to shoot me first and ask questions later. Especially given the circumstance and current events.

But I already have an Obama Phone.

You don't raise a gun and point it at people unless you intend to shoot it at them.

Should the peacekeeper have waited till he started spraying bullets until he fired on an obvious threat?

Maybe he should've waited until a few people got shot first. Or waited until there was at least a confirmed kill?

Should he have called 911 and said "officer there is a man here drawing an AR-15 on the crowd please hurry before he shoots somebody" and wait 15 minutes for the cop to arrive?

Like...I don't know what you expect here. If there's one time when it's acceptable to shoot first, it's when somebody already has a gun pointing at you.

This whole thing is a shining example of "good guy with a gun". It's the second-best possible outcome, only being better if Ah Soo weren't struck in the crossfire. .

Sounds like the cops are in the right here...

Gamboa was the idiot who pulled his rifle on a crowd of peaceful protestors.

The protestors, being smart, had peacekeepers who were defensively carrying.

One of the peacekeepers shot at Gamboa, and ended up hitting Ah Loo, who was (apparently) an innocent bystander.

Gamboa broke the cardinal rule of carrying a gun: don't point it at anything that you aren't planning to kill. Defensive peacekeeper took the appropriate action in disarming a very valid threat (especially considering the actions that MAGAts had been taking on protestors lately). Cops arrested Gamboa.

I've got sympathy for Ah Loo (and the peacekeeper that shot him)...but that death is on Gamboa. That's felony homicide right there. FAFO, Gamboa.

Yeah but you don't understand the mentality of a Rhode Islander.

Rhode Islanders only take the Mass Pike if they have to. Very little reason to go to Western MA, 495 goes to the Cape, and 93/95 to NH.

They only go to Connecticut for Foxwoods/Mohegan or Mystic. No tolls on that route.

Other than that, the only way they are leaving the state is on a Southwest flight to MCO or FLL.

Yeah that's the other thing. It's in Bristol!

That's practically Massachusetts! And not even like, Boston...it's like...Swansea. Suburban, nearly rural.

To get from Providence, you practically have to go into Massachusetts first.

To get from Warwick (where PVD airport is) or points south, you have to take the Pell bridge, which is a toll road, in addition to a bridge. Iirc, the only toll road in RI for 2-axle vehicles...so not a lot of people even really have EZPass. And you gotta cross the Jamestown Bridge first.

These are all things most Rhode Islanders loathe doing.

And yet despite that, it gets 80% of what Trump claimed his draw was. Pathetic.

Do you expect the satellite to see the whole earth?

You know it's night for like half of it, yea?

The population of the DC metro area is about 6.3 million people.

Even as an embellished number, 250k is weak sauce.

For comparison:

The Bristol Day Parade (longest continually running 4th of July parade in the US) draws around 200k, and that's in fucking Rhode Island with a paltry 1m population. And Rhode Islanders don't like long drives or traffic. I'm 40, lived in RI/SEMA my whole life, and never went.

Macy's Thanksgiving Parade draws 2.5M. 1M spend NYE in Times Square.

I take it you don't go to Harvard?

Man some people take method acting way too far.

Sure. Maybe if they did a better job at WW2. But I don't think that'd necessarily be an improvement...

We got these shirts for the eclipse last year (we traveled to Dallas and viewed from Perot MoS). None of us noticed this then. It seems so obvious, now that my kid pointed it out to me.

Hey all.

I just waited nearly 3 weeks for my (generic) Vyvanse refill.

How much longer is this "supply chain" problem going to go on for? It's been like a year already, hasn't it? Wasn't the whole thing about manufacturers claiming they'd "exceeded their quota"?

Or is it going to get worse with RFK just wanting to send half of us to ~~concentration camps~~ organic lettuce farms in Kansas?

We are waiting for our new Honda Go4Ride.

Just...the way it seamlessly transitions in the third paragraph...the illustrations...the summary. The backyardchickens.com reference. Just all of it.

Who had "Freedom of Press" as one of the first pillars to fall?
