I wrote a somewhat similar post on my website, but more from the perspective of a creative than an end consumer.

I love posts like this because I think that in a world that continues to characterise community copying as immoral, it’s really important that we continue to push for sharing as an admirable and positive social value.

I liked your bringing up how it is a ridiculous notion to say "here is an idea im planting in your head by sharing it with you. now you must never expand on it or share it with othes or do anything with it, for it belongs to me"
