10 days. 10 days and I leave this place.

It’s so hot. Being outside feels like being in a video game and not having heat resistant gear, like you can feel the clock ticking down until you start taking damage.

Thank you soviet-bottom

My parents moved us here when I was 10 and I’ve wanted to leave since day 1. It’s been over 15 years and my parents moved back out years ago. The only thing keeping me here was my partner finishing her PhD, now that that’s done it’s time to go

I can’t say I’ll miss it, but I’m still scared to leave. I’ve been here so long and I've been at this job for most of the time I’ve been working, so the change is scary.

Everything I've heard about Florida makes it sound like hell. Congrats to them! A PhD is such an accomplishment.

Definitely, moving is scary. You'll do okay though, I'm rooting for you.

Congrats and good luck! One of my nightmares is that my family finally agrees to leave the day AFTER whatever fash governor we have erects a shipping container wall at the border and starts rounding up homeless people.

That’s been my fear for a couple years, that shit’s gonna pop off and I’m gonna be on the wrong side of that border

Get me out of this place. It's full of old people being steamed like a bag of broccoli. The worst part is none of them understand what's going on. They just keep asking Jesus to make it cold again.
