Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.

Rules:

-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --

-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --

-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --

-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --

-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--

-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--

-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --

-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

This is a sad day for 35 year old photographers who try and fuck 18 year old club girls

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago

18? I only go to the clubs in detailed list of states with under 18 years old consent laws recalled entirely from memory

I’m completely checked out, Elmo

The only thing that will give him catharsis is reporting more children to the cops for doodling on the sidewalk with chalk without permission. May the lord have mercy on the kids of Williamsburg.

I found a YouTube link in your comment. Here are links to the same video on alternative frontends that protect your privacy:

I hope they can do one final article with a name like "We dropped NSA grade research chemicals with Yair Netenyahu at a Hindutva psytrance warehouse rave" or some nonsense, y'know, for closure.

Once upon a time I was the full stack developer and the sysadmin—so the entire tech staff—for an online magazine. But somehow Vice can’t handle running its own site anymore?

I think its funny that the guy who founded Vice got replaced with the person who turned A&E into the duck dynasty network, after which she totally tanked the company, and they then replaced her with two guys who were both in senior executive positions as the company kept shooting itself in the foot. I have no sympathy for Shane Smith. The man is a billionaire and his company ethos went from "What if lame nepo baby punk sex pests could be journalists" to "What if tech guy sex pestd were journalists" without ever stopping being performative about the aesthetic. But it is funny that the company only functioned under his leadership when his main deal is forming deals to get vice funded by other people and going to third world countries to gawp.

Such a great alumni

In January 2008, co-founder Gavin McInnes left Vice Media due to "creative differences" with the company, and founded the website streetcarnage.com. He later co-founded Rooster, an advertising agency, and became a far-right activist, founding the Proud Boys.

Gavin Mcinnes founding the proud boys and also founding vice is pretty well known, partially because Gavin Mcinnes won't shut the fuck up about how he had to leave vice because it wasn't punk enough, since the only punk thing was being a white supremacist and a fascist.

Wasn't kind-vladimir-ilyich from a Vice documentary?

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Yes. The guy was a government official from one of the separatist Donbas regions. He was disillusioned with how corrupt or inefficient the new government is and how they weren’t respecting people’s demands and think they all would’ve been shot by the kind Vladimir Illych. I believe the guy’s name or moniker is also Lenin lol

It's called "nom de guerre" dad, and it's a far superior concept to a "moniker"!

Bloody kids fetishishing french bourgeois decadence and attacking good proletarian words

"person's name, especially a nickname or alias," 1849, said to be originally a hobo term (but monekeer is attested in London underclass from 1851), of uncertain origin; perhaps from monk (monks and nuns take new names with their vows, and early 19c. British tramps referred to themselves as "in the monkery").

He’s so fucking bad at running a company.

The days of eating a tube of cbd lube counting as gonzo journalism are over

Waypoint was the only valuable thing they had, and they laid them off about a year ago.
