Not everyone can afford a new paint job
That place needs a lot more than a paint job.
Many houses have a simple storage and laundry basement that are just kept maintained, not pretty.
It doesn’t look dirty, just uncared for and like 100 students have moved in and out since the last paint job.
Pull out carpet, sand the hardwood floor and refinish it, sand the walls, fill the holes, and a fresh coat of paint, and that place could probably look pretty nice.
