I live in Rockland county NY. I feel we are more geographically and socially more NJ than NJ for a few reasons.

[] We are isolated from the rest of NYS by a large park on one side and a wide river on the other - but connect directly to Montvale, Northvale, and Mahwah.

[] Our suburban spawl visually resembles Bergen more than Westchester or Orange.

[] Our mass transit to NYC is the NJTransit trains.

[] Great big malls.

[] We both have the PIP and GSP.

[] We have Ramapo, you have Lakewood.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

We would be happy to have Rockland County join NJ! My first beers sitting at a bar was at the Orangeburg Pub when I was 17, back in 1979!

Now, if you could convince your governor to let you secede, we're in business!

I hate to ask... What is your opinion of Staten Island? I rescued my wife from there.
