Someone close to me experienced the same shit. Took 5 months to land a job well below their qualifications. And those 5 months were no picnic - looking for a job is a full time job. Meanwhile the bills pile up and you just flush what little you've saved on essentials to survive. To make matters worse, other friends will say lib shit like "enjoy your time off."

Yeah I apply for jobs Mon - Fri and I've also been studying new shit for my so-called career. That's on top of working part time at a warehouse (I'm allowed a certain number of hours while collecting unemployment benefits, and a friend of mine hooked me up with the temp work he knew about there)
An acquaintance of mine asked what kind of traveling I had done to enjoy my time off and I was just like "???"
I know someone that's been in a similar place. They even were quite setup for frugal living, but it still trickles away your funds over months.

Took me 3 months to find one, I'm lucky to be living with a friend. Barely getting interviews, little in the way of follow-ups, for work I have years of experience in and I think I interview pretty well, when I can get one.

Been there. Finding someone that's got the hookup is the way to go. If you don't know someone, hang out somewhere you can meet people in your industry, online or irl.
You have my empathy, I've been in and out of regular work sometimes too and unemployment really hollows you out.

Took me 6 months OP but eventually it happened (at a pay cut unfortunately). It’s rough but you can’t give up, or give in to how unfair it is. You got this.

similar situation, though ill start running low after unemployment runs out and i have another 4 months of that, so will probably start panicking then. im already pretty stressed

I have been unemployed in the past for over 6 months. I find it takes at least a month to even begin to gain traction and then its a slog. worst job in the world is looking for a job. I to hate having my savings drain away. I used to sub high school and that helped mitigate it a bit but that has become to annoying to apply to now.
