According to Tinder’s 2023 Year In Swipe report, a new dating trend has emerged that redefines traditional dating norms. “Not Attached To an Outcome,” or “NATO” dating, is an approach where individuals focus on enjoying the present moment and the process of getting to know a potential partner without placing excessive pressure on the future trajectory of a relationship.

Wow almost like Gen Z are in their 20s. Why do we have to come up with new "phenomena" and names for utterly banal stuff.

Is there a reason why they stretched the nomenclature of this phenomenon to call it something pertinent to NATO? It seems incredibly weird. Like they are desperate to link something normal and banal to a genocidal international military alliance.

It's because zoomers flirt using the NATO phonetic alphabet.

I found a dictionary of this newfangled NATO slag the kids are using: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiservice_tactical_brevity_code

It's called the NATO dating trend because it maps to the military strategy.

"Maybe we can do some nation building and get a new highly functional vassal state like postwar Germany or Japan, maybe we just fuck shit up and set everything on fire for a couple decades, let's just enjoy the present moment and the process of getting to bomb brown people without placing excessive pressure on the future trajectory of our imperialism"

Yeah, this tracks.
