i think what actually happened is these are cellars that flooded and thus the doors were forcibly opened by the pressure of the water.

It wouldn't look like that and there'd be visible water damage. The doors were opened with impacts to the handle area. Obviously a battering ram was used, possibly police.

You're right. I didn't notice. I'll stand by my initial assessment though. Someone battered those doors open, presumedly to deal with the leak.

Water can be scary, but enough force to open the doors like that would leave visible damage on the walls.

Probably the aftermath of an emergency responders' training exercise. The university I work at had a building slated for demolition and the police and firefighters used the opportunity to train with a more realistic response.

Alternately, it was no training exercise and some real shit went down.
