Someone's gotta be the scapegoat.
This was justified. The talent they have on that side of ball there's no excuse for the slow starts. Defense is hurting, offense has to pick up the slack. They haven't. I feel like McDermott's window is closing, not the Bills'. He needs to get the conference finals or it might be over for him.
As a Fins fan, they should have signed him to a lifetime extension.
He needs to get to the playoffs, first. I think they have one loss to spare before losing hope of a playoff spot. The rest of the schedule has Philly, KC, Dallas, the Chargers, and one more game with the rest of the division. None of those teams are pushovers (maybe NE, but the Bills already lost to them once).
The division isn't out of reach yet, particularly if they beat Miami again and own the tiebreaker. But do you really think the team we saw last night can beat Miami?
It'll be tough to get into playoffs but they have the personnel to do it. Offense has the tools to make that quick turn around. No key personnel are injured on that side of the ball and they can be explosive if the play calling is good. McDermott not only has to get into the playoffs but also make it to the conference finals. If he fails to take all of those steps I think he has to go. He's had prime Allen and an expensive roster that's built to win right now for a few years. All he has to show for are 2nd round losses. Since his best friend is the GM, the ownership has to make that decision. But, Bills are a meme franchise. They'll fuck it up I'm quite sure.
