I had to go to the ER in May (Regina Pasqua - not covid related). I was in the ER for 28(?) hours. Didn't take long to get in, admitted into ER at 11am. After a few hours I got moved to a bed in the hall way. At 7pm the surgeon "admitted" me to the hospital. Didn't get actually admitted until the next day... so spent the night and next morning in ER hall way.

It sounds like your area has the same issue as mine: covid hit and there was a massive reorganization of health care labor. A bunch of people retired or moved to less patient-fronting are, others got sick and died or got long covid, more moved to different positions for more money or better work-life balance or whatever. In the end, the nursing homes are really understaffed and have a hard time accepting new patients. Which means the rehabs can't discharge to nursing homes, so they're backed up. Which means hospitals have difficulty discharging to rehab, so the wards are booked and there aren't a lot of openings for new patients. The ER has to accept the people who come in for treatment - but they can't get them on the floor in a timely manner, so people spend days in the ER waiting for a hospital bed.

Are you okay now?
