It's the least interesting imo.
The person who introduced me to SoreMachi said that it had a lot of investigation or detectivework in it, but there was hardly any of that in the anime, so that's what stood out to me. Was that what made those parts of the manga less interesting to you?
It's been a while, but if I remember correctly it's mostly a question of good characterization and horny diminishing.
