A lot of the comment here don't seem to understand what you're asking. I think you're talking about using Usenet for its original purpose (discussion forums), not for piracy.
I wish more people in the comments were discussing this context of using usenet versus using it as an alternative to torrenting. I have never personally used usenet other than as a pirate and would love to hear how usenet worked. Is it similar to how forums were with threads people could post and then people could reply to? Or is it a totally different concept from reddit/forum style?
