Overview:

The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.

Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.

America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.

America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

He voted for this.

“I’m all for ‘get the criminals out of the country,’ right?” he said. “But the people that are here working hard, especially the ones married to Americans — I mean, that’s always been a way to secure a green card.”

That's exactly what they're doing, illegal immigration is a crime.

“It’s just a hell of a way to treat a veteran,” said Carey Holliday, a former immigration judge who is now representing the couple. “You take their wives and send them back to Mexico?”

Why should the law work differently just because you're a veteran?

Like, literally everyone has been telling them since the very beginning that this was going to happen. All of them ignored the warnings as fear mongering and now act shocked when it happens to them.

If someone realizes they fucked up when they voted and regret their decisions I can kinda get behind that sentiment. But at this point in time and where we are now, if you still act shocked that this happened to you then that's what you get. Some people regret their vote because they realized too late how fucked it could get while other people only regret that it's affecting them instead of just the people they wanted.

To be honest I don't understand why they would ever vote for Trump in the first place, but people do a lot of things I don't understand. I feel in live we should be allowed to make mistakes. I think the being shocked part also comes from them realising they've made a mistake. Like their whole (false) view of the world just breaks.

I mean it really really sucks some people realise only now becauss the world would have looked a lot better if they hadn't voted for a dictator. So I totally we get it we call them out for voting for a leopard and having their faces eaten but we also should be careful turning them away. A mistreated veteran longing for his wife might be a great asset in the fight against fascism.

I doubt any of these people will change. If you voted for Trump when he wasn't even trying to hide who he really is, you probably won't learn from this. It's only a problem because it happened to him, but he'd probably still be cheering on anyone else he considers undesirable being deported/disappeared. But I'll be happy if I turn out to be wrong.
