Looks like cotton candy. You definitely messed up the recipe. Maybe try a ready mix first to see how your machine performs before switching to your own recipes

Yup - I forgot the salt. It was the basic recipe that came with the machine other than that.

When you cut the top part off was it fine? I had something similar happen when I put a bit to much in. Was supposed to be 3 1/4 max in mine and I used a 3 3/4 cup recipe. Everything that fit the pan looked find after I took the top off

I panicked when I saw it touching the glass and bailed on the bake. I forgot the salt which Iโ€™ve read helps limit the rise so I assume that was the problem.

Mine will just barely touch that glass and stick to it (even following the recipe) so I'll grease it a bit ahead of time for a nicer release when popping the lid.

Use the timer function to wake up to freshly baked bread; it's amazing
