What is a Tankie?

Basic Rules:

Apologia — (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.
Revisionism — No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.
Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.
Off-topic Discussion — Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post as opposed to arguing.
You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.

Probably pivot my time and effort into general promotion of the Lemmy-verse. Kinda hard these days when, inevitably, someone is going to come in and ask "Isn't that the place that's full of tankies?"
At least if defederation is achieved against the whole triad I can say, "Yea they're there, but most instances have disconnected from their instances, so you won't see their BS unless you specifically want to"
An anecdote I've shared before a time or two on my lemm.ee account was that I almost quit Lemmy specifically because of how insufferable the Hexbears were.
I can't speak to whether keeping me around was good, but I genuinely only remained because I learned how to block the instance.

Also I think Piefed lets you block all users in an instance even if that instance is technically federated.

Very few, considering you're one of maybe two people I've seen complaining about it. cm0002 is doing good for the platform.
I mean, that's your opinion on the side that upvotes this dumb shit. Over on the tanky side you see just as many up votes and downvotes. It's like when a bunch of rich people move into a neighborhood next to a methadone clinic and wanted it shut down cause they hate all the dirty people around.

Like this was cute at first, I hate the tankies too, I just had 10 solid paragraphs about how Hasan is a left wing grifter modded off. This is gonna seem like cry bullying, but was this the person you always were, or did Lemmy turn you into this? Fucking tankies.

You can make assumptions if you'd like, but I was ramping up posting well before I took up this fight. I was ramping up towards the tail end of Reddit before the whole API debacle even. And I've always been a fairly heavy commenter. And actually Lemmy does have a way of making me want to post and not just comment.
So no, I won't be disappearing, if you really care to know. I've got other non-Tankie related plans in the works to further the Lemmy-verse based on my own goals and desires like even spinning up my own public instance.
Tl;Dr, you're stuck with me for the long haul, Tankies or no.
I'll believe it when I see it, for now you are the father of this silly interpersonal drama. You aren't fighting some enemy. You're spending all your time documenting people of Walmart. Seems like a great way to spend your time!
