Is acceptable for a 30-40 year old to hang out at a bar alone a few times a month, or is it sad?

I'm not talking about if you're on a work trip. Not clubbing or trolling, just going for a drink or dinner.

Edit to add: does it matter if it is a man or a woman who is alone? Does that change the thinking?

Just wondering 🤔

I thought it was generally normal for a parent to bathe with their baby especially a single parent with no help. My friend made it sound like it was a gross thing to do which really rubbed me the wrong way. Am I the weird one?

I understand they don't want a direct conflict with the United States (they don't want the smoke) but why do they not consider the giving of missiles, etc an act of war and consider us belligerents?

Do people ignore this? my partner says she is more turned on in the morning.. and she loves kissing but her bad breath with mine turns me off instantly. How do people enjoy morning sex?? Also drinking one glass of water doesn’t always fix it ..

Original Title: I’m a cashier and the other day a customer said something I can’t stop wondering about. He said sarcastically, while chuckling, “everything is so overpriced, but we pay for it anyways”. Why do we “pay for it anyways”? Why don’t we as a society try to fight back by not purchasing overpriced items?

How the fuck are we expected to do it? I can’t even afford to pay for my medical supplies. I can’t afford to pay my mechanic. I can’t afford to pay for my groceries, my fridge and pantry are nearly empty. I can’t afford to go back to school because switching to only part time wouldn’t pay my bills. My next paycheck is literally going towards all my bills. How the fuck are we expected to live like this. It’s making me go insane.

My dad insists that it is and he genuinely freaks out if he thinks any of my siblings have the app downloaded.

He also thinks that Google can't be used to search anything about it, or to search for anything non-liberal; essentially Google is corrupt and they censor everything.

So, I don't know if I'm letting my dad get to me or what; is this all true?

My friend started seeing this vegetarian girl a while back but she does not wanna hang with our group because we all eat meat. Was just wondering if others are like this too?

To be clear, I am not going to do this. I had a dream last night that my passenger tossed it out the window while I was driving on the freeway and it got me curious.

If it matters, let’s say it’s a 2021 Ford Escape.

Would the car shutdown and put itself in park, come to a screeching halt and likely crash? Would the gas pedal stop working while the car ran out its momentum? Something else entirely?

Yesterday I was just watching a netflix show named 100 humans, and while talking about beauty they said something in the lines of "unbelievably uncallused feet" while explaining a beautiful woman. Which kind of struck me. It is true, there are woman even well in to their 40s, with really soft, uncalluses, baby-like feet. While most women have callused feet ,some or a lot, even in early 20s.

Is it something about genetics? personal care? or is it just being really careful which shoe they wear?

Lately some YouTube shorts came up in my feed where some (North American) Youtubers claimed that shampoo only cleans your scalp and that only conditioner cleans your hair.

I thought to myself that these guys must be insane since shampoo is basically soap (and historically people used normal soap for it and I have also done that for a while) which shouldn’t distinguish between where the "oil and dirt is“ and frankly I rarely used conditioner and it’s very rare here in Central Europe and especially among men (and shampoo brands do have male shampoo versions but no conditioner). I lived in Asia for a few years where everyone used it and I did too without ever really asking myself what it does…(and didnt feel cleaner, just strangely smooth…).

However - I also saw some people on Reddit echo this "shampoo only cleans your scalp“ and even saw people under a video with someone with super filthy hair comment that "must have never used conditioner“ and I wonder if the world around me has gone insane, if shampoo in the Us is different or did I just wash my hair wrong all these years…?

Tldr: does shampoo clean your hair and we have a "hair flat earther“ situation here or have I no clue?

I moved to Madrid a week ago, and the acne on my back that I’ve had for a couple of years is nearly completely gone.

Edit- moved from the US

For instance I have read Paul Revere never shouted the phrase “The British are coming!” As the operation was meant to be discrete. Whether historical or current, what’s something widely believed about the US that’s wrong?

I’m certainly not refusing them from some sort of stupid superiority high ground. I like making fancy dinners and cooking amazing things, but I’m not above microwaving pizza bites. I just feel like an air fryer is just a tiny oven and I can’t think of a use for a pressure cooker that I couldn’t do otherwise.

I’m not saying they can’t have them, but if I’m watching an action movie, i want to see action, not the constant “will they, won’t they” trope with the main character

Having a bit of an identity crisis, but basically my family’s only been here in the US since the 1920’s. I don’t know if that history is long enough to be considered an “American”. I still have a foreign looking name, a foreign looking face, yet I never visited the Middle East even though they came here around 100 years ago. But people still assume that I wasn’t born here, even if I speak in a very whitewashed-ish way.

And when I say Arab-American, people always ask where I’m “from from”, even if I don’t know the country that my family’s from. So what do I respond?

Personally, I don’t mind going, especially since they’re a good friend and I’d love to hang out and catch up. I also don’t mind paying $20 bucks but I do think it’s bad taste. I don’t think other guests will take it as lightly as I am

Edit: they are having it catered at a venue. No gifts. They don’t want gifts. Decent-sized as in 30 guests I think. Lots of party games

Okay so to preface this i am not married however i do really want to be married once i can, but why do so many married people seem to genuinely hate their partners or hate the idea off getting “stuck” with somebody? I love the idea off marrying someone who i love dearly but so many married people act like its the worst thing ever

So im doing a short film for a movie, and one of the characters is supposed to be a smoker, ive read online that Herbal cigarettes are the best choice, and that if you draw the smoke into your mouth, and then breathe out through your nose, and THEN blow out through your mouth, you wont inhale any smoke. How safe is this? Is it truly a safe option or does it come with risks?

edit: short film for a class*

My man is working out of state for a few months and I wanted to give him something that smells like me while he’s gone because I mentioned how I had been and was gonna sleep in his hoodie and he thought it was cute and mentioned he may wanna steal it back because now it’ll smell like me. I wanna keep it obviously but I was gonna give him second thing that smelled like me. Idk if he would actually like something like a sweatshirt or hoodie. Do guys like that or is there an equivalent?
