I was born in the late 90s, maybe its popularity has started to fade away?

I was a child for the first 17 years of the 2000s so ‘No Child Left Behind’ is just something I heard at the beginning and the end of PBS Kids shows……

Last night had a really casual date with someone at my college. They came to my dorm, we smoked weed, watched a bit of a funny movie, etc. I liked her although she was a tiny bit awkward.

I got really super high and so I was just trying to keep myself still and quiet or else I’d be talking like an idiot. We were there for 2 hours and when she said she was leaving, I walked her down. She turned around and started smiling big and said “We should do this again some time, maybe get dinner?” I said “I’d definitely like that” and then we said bye.

Today she walked past my table at club fair and I waved and said “hey” I thought she’d stop and make chit chat seeing as we hung out last night but she just kept walking after she waved and said hello. I thought it was a little weird as I would’ve stopped to chat. “Hey how’s the sign ups going, hey hows your day” etc.

My friend is in his last year studying Electronics Engineering. He is also a Chess IM (International Master), one of the highest chess titles only for some of the best players in the world, is this notable to put on a resume or no? I think it can be impressive but he said he does not want to put irrelevant things on resume. Obviously chess is not relevant to engineering at all.

A lot of people correct me based on it. "You can't say that to her, because she is a women and they react different", "You shouldn't hurt her even if she beats you, because she is a women" "He is a guy, you should learn from him and lie for him", and they try to force me to apologize even if i dont feel i did something wrong and I refuse.

Because I’m not really good at expressing/explaining myself properly, I’ll just keep this short.

I need help in figuring out a way to fool my brain/body to complete simple tasks like showering regularly and cleaning my room without feeling like it’s an exhausting task.

It’s so bad to the point where I’m not motivated enough to work on the things I actually love to do.

So I need help. Any suggestions on completing a simple task like showering would be appreciated.

Like, the some of reddit pages will take down your post if it doesn't have enough characters, or it doesn't have brackets in the title, etc.

Did someone just repackage and reinvent being a housewife and market it to Gen Z? I'm not getting why it is a "thing" and not just "being a housewife" instead.

Or why Millennials and Gen Xer's have no interest in it and it seems to be an entirely Gen Z thing.

is it solely the anonymity? sometimes it feels far and few in between if I get a kind response. I've had people on reddit even retract their mean statement because they said that my replies where nice and they weren't expecting that. Sometimes I wonder if I'm walking past people in public who would be that mean to me or if this solely happens on the internet. I mean I've had bullies in school who have tried to take a quick shot at me to make others laugh. I don't know if that kind of behave is as encourage on the internet as it is in school. I also feel when its in person its subtle. I feel there are things that could have been said to me that just went over my head. On the internet they want you to know that they are being mean. I try not to care because people who act that way usually aren't at peace with themselves but it feels like the frequency is picking up. Don't even get me started on the people who use your post history to demean you.

He's 20 and still lives with us (+-45) rent free. He has a job and earns a decent penny. Is looking for a place of his own but it's hard to find anything.

He has had a habit of overdoing things for a certain period of time as long as I know him (20 years). Eating chocolate. Smoking. Playing computer games. Simple stuff. And I mean overdoing. Like, playing computer games 22 hrs a day for several weeks. Eating 5 bars of chocolate daily. Buying a 2000 euro espresso machine and all accessoiries because he watched some youtube channel one time.

Now he's into proteines. He goes to the gym every day ( out of the blue, started a week ago) and consumes at least 8 eggs every day, bougt bottles of fluit eggwhites, bought a kilo bag of wheat proteine and creatine and devours it. He seems to have no limit.

Talking to him does not work, believe me I tried. I think it is super unhealthy, and I worry about him. But I have no opening to get through to him.

What do I do? Any suggestions are very welcome.

I guess compared to other simple jobs. Cleaning shit aint so bad. Exercises, walking, not having to do anything complex. Making sure there no filth. I guess the size of the building matters.

I just watched Magnus Carlson play Chess at a world cup, it was just a regular game, not the final or anything important.

After the game, he VERY quickly got up and basically ran out of the room.

I have seen other players do this too (win or lose, champ or regular or loser).

Why do they do this? why do chess players run out of the room/building after playing?

Also, why do they handshake and exchange clipboards to sign so quickly? what's the rushing for?

(Asking for my bf):

I (25M) was just at a gas station and a man I have never seen before approached me. He asked if we might know each other from somewhere but he couldn’t recall and I couldn’t either. We talked for a minute and based off of what he said, our lives didn’t and shouldn’t have intersected much. He then asked for my phone information and when he put my number in, he already had it in his phone with my name and everything. Then he gave me his number to test it out in my phone, and I already had his too with his name and all, but it was blocked. I have never blocked somebody as far as I can recall. It would take a lot to get me to do that. So the fact that I don’t remember anything is really really weird. He said something about how he’s all about networking and connecting and then he shook my hand and left… now I’m thinking I should take all my info off my phone. Just left me with a really weird feeling. Is this potentially a scam that anyone has ever heard of? Or some kind of hacking setup?

My mum does this. No matter the food or cuisine, she asks wheres the hot sauce, home-cooked or restaurant food. I asked her why one time and she just said she likes it. But I'm wondering if it's more than that... Like an addiction. Or like those people who have Ketchup with rice? Or have her taste buds been blasted so she needs to create more intense flavour?

Don't get me wrong, I like spicy food, I just think there's a time and a place. Mexican food - sure, an English pasty... Not so much.

I'm a 28(m) with a rare genetic condition that I only discovered a few days ago. Basically I've gotten 5 to 20 years left in my life and some of those years may not be pleasant. I love my wife dearly. She is the most important person in my life and I would do anything for her. But I dont want her to be a widow in her late 40s. If I leave now shes only 27 and she can rebuild her life and have a chance for children which would be unethical with me considering they would likley have the same condition. I would leave her with our home which is paid for and all of our belongings and move back to my parents. They will likely out live me. This sounds harsh but the thought of her alone that early in life brings me to tears. I cant have her suffer for my sake.

When humans/animals die, rigor mortis is supposed to start setting it after like 3-4 hours right? So why does that not happen to the chicken breasts in the fridges or the pork chops? Do they inject it with something to stop it decomposing? How does it work?

I am Korean and I have never been in the US. I mostly lived in France though and as it is seen in France and by french people, some american policies look very strange.

So as the title says, do many americans move states because of political parties?

For example, as I understand, Texas seems to be a strong republican state. Do democrats in Texas move because of drastic republican views?

For instance, if my country would have school shootings, I would definitely be open to move to another country as I begin to have kids.

I am not trying to raise a debate, I was just curious and looking for people's experiences.
