So I bought 20 strawberry plants a few months ago from someone in town and decided to do some experiments. I planted some in soil, some I put in my outdoor hydroponic NFT system, and these four I plopped into two of my indoor tabletop hydroponic DWT systems.
I decided to just let the mfs grow to see what happened and look at all those fucking runners 
they won't stop growing, I can't keep up it's never ending. These have been by far the most successful (although still no flowers/fruit yet lol).
So I've been planting some of them in soil to produce new independent plants:
Others I might transfer to my NFT system (I still have a few open slots there). Still not sure how I'm going to manage overwintering the hydro ones I have outside but I'll figure something out.
If you're curious this is the system in the picture, they're awesome I have three of them in total, but you could easily make your own much cheaper with a plastic insert, some spray paint, an aquarium air stone, timer and light.

First time trying to grow, excited to see how these turn out!

I took a strawberry seedling and poured it into a larger pot.
The central part is fine, and some strawberries are growing. But some parts are dying, drying from the base, as you can see in the pic.
I was wondering if it is like basil, where the plants you buy are made of many different plants too close, so it is better to separate them? Or, is there is something else I’m doing wrong?
Do you have any advice?

Some of the leaves on this jade are getting kinda wrinkly and losing their springiness, I definitely don’t think it’s being underwatered. Any ideas? It’s not in the sunniest spot is that maybe the issue?

What should I name this weird little alien creature?
I think it's a Mammillaria spinosissima ssp. pilcayensis
Mammillaria are generally native to Mexico, so maybe a name in Spanish, Nahuatl, or another language spoken in Mexico would be neat. Or maybe a leftist historical figure from Mexico, or a cactus-related Aztec deity. But don't limit yourself to that, if you have any other ideas you should definitely share them!
Maybe a feminine name this time, since I named my last succulent Herbert

My potted indoor bird of paradise had its only remaining stem snapped off in the wind the other day, now it is totally bare above ground except for a few old stems… is there any chance it will recover or should I just throw it out?

Been cooking this idea for a while and finally got all the equipment for it. Took me all day but it's finally done! Just gotta plug it into a timer once January comes around.
Context: I love gardening but my place gets exactly zero natural light inside, so I had to devise some way of germinating seeds indoors in the cold months before spring rolls around when I can move them all outside. Last year I just put all my plants on a counter top and pointed some lights at them, but that quickly became very messy and I ran out of space. This way, everything is up and out of the way and I'll have ample space for all my plants 🌱
Btw I don't know why there are those black streaks across the picture something to do with how the lights refract I guess I dunno.
For those curious, the equipment:
- Wall mounted storage cabinet
- 2X Spider Farmer Glow30 grow lights
- 2X computer fans (I used two Noctua fans because I had some spares laying around from a previous PC build but you could use anything really)
- 2X four-pin to USB adapter cables
- Wall mounted power strip with USB ports
- 4X 4" pipe grate
Just needed a 4" and 1.5" hole saws to drill the holes required to install it all. I know I'm not getting the maximum voltage for those fans (5V rather than 12V) but I'm not to worried about it, should work just fine to get a little breeze going in there.

Another gardening lesson in not giving up: The progression of pictures here are 3 of the same plant, a Trepadeira Werner pepper, taken over the course of this year.
1st pic: I grew them from seed indoors and a few days after putting them out in early April, I found the local deer had visited and eaten the plant down to the stem. I considered it a loss but didn't deal with it or pull the plant up. I just walked away, then went out of town for a bit the next day.
2nd Pic: When I came back into town it had new leaves so I figured I'd let it try again for kicks. It had fallen over under its weight so I staked it up. I did try a few things to keep the deer away, I think with moderate success.
3rd Pic is from last week. I see some evidence of deer nibbling but I believe the heat of the pepper may be keeping them away from it now. I'm still blown away remembering this thing when it was eaten to the stem.

Here's the basic design:
2 tomatoes, 2 cape gooseberry, 2 ghost pepper
My first attempt at outdoor hydroponics
The tomato plants are an eldritch horror
but growing some lovely fruit
Cape gooseberries have some flowers but I don't think they usually bloom until later in the year. The ghost peppers have been drowned out by the obnoxiously large tomatoes, I don't expect any peppers from them I'm afraid.
So far I'd say my first attempt has been a modest success.
