keyword filters, so you can avoid posts about "trump" or "hitler" and other things that annoy you
they kinda drove ppl to 3rd party apps. i mean, if there was a tiktok app with less needs for permissions or less spyware, ppl would prefer that as well.
linux is also about choice, so it doesn't matter if something is bad for you. you can use a different alternative or even make/fork one.
you'll change your mind when it's more effort to set up a test situation for a manual test. like when you change something that communicates with an expensive propietary API and you can't just push it to production.
