It’s not bayesian reasoning without actual math, and many beliefs are not so easily quantified under any statistical framework.

All it really offers is unwarranted confidence in one’s own rationality, often used in these circles to cloak nauseating positions.

Making ideas « pay rent », In these circles is also used for black-pilling people into rejecting common sense and humanity. It’s good to be skeptical of new ideas or new claims, it’s even good to analyze and synthesize your own beliefs, it’s a bit dangerous to say that every belief is negotiable, and to give the tools to others the tools to mould them (here be cult dragons).

Despite it’s flaws, it is a good opening to the Declaration of Independence of the US (not American myself): « we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all [people] are […] equal […] with certain unalienable rights »

You can’t get morals from stats, and some core ideals ought to live in your mind rent-free.

Listen to me.

YOU DO NOT THINK IN SUFFICIENT DETAIL ABOUT SUPERJOCKS CONSIDERING WHETHER OR NOT TO BULLY YOU. THAT IS THE ONLY POSSIBLE THING WHICH GIVES THEM A MOTIVE AND POPULARITY TO FOLLOW THROUGH ON THE BULLYING.

Such pointless orientalism, unbearable levels of cringe.

It was so funny that I read it as an intentionnal self-deprecating (and by extension towards the community) joke, maybe I am too optimistic towards human nature ^^ (especically of the Ratty kind).

Careful, you're agreeing with Yud there! ^^
There's a reason it's not a completely dead topic in philosophy, since it's at least somewhat of an interesting question as relates to monism/physicalism vs dualism (more than trying to litigate any specific organelle, or of the presence or lack thereof in animals). Though a much shorter debunking of Yud's views is the possibility of p-zombies is an unfalsifiable premise, thus claiming any foolproof counter is not so Rational™ (Although by the same token, it is indeed a topic of ultimately limited value)

Sneerious rephrasing:

I would also tell them that the rationality cargo culting, is the only way to portray understanding things,
fake it till you make it, you can solve this insecurity that I have about myself in you!
Other people are untinking NPCs, they don't see the cracks in the matrix (and PC hellscape) like I do.

Yud himself has been on this particular train for years. In one of his dath ilan fanfic blog-stains, he bemoaned the evils of our society killing babies with omega-6 nutrition bags.

It ain't honest but it's easy work!

I would curse your name, but the video was of such profound vapidity, that it's already gone from my mind ^^ (though a strange desire for mind bleach remains).

That is a delightfully ironic cover ^^, my headcannon is that someone in the distribution pipeline was intentionally taking the piss, surely no one can be that shortsighted; wait ...

I think the most bitter part is him taking pride in his "real life" intelligence and his condemnation of test takers as "lifeless bureaucrats who can muster sterile motivation". There is a callous hubris there, I suspect fueled by resentment of past interactions with quacks and/or holier than thou academics, the remedy isn't becoming holier than thou in turn.

Sneering is fun/cathartic, othering less so.

NOTE: As a mindless drone pencil pusher myself, prone to to investigate things that don't clearly matter immediately to the "real world"; I might be a tad defensive here ^^.

Through the magic of self-funded blockchain crowd combobulator (famously very low on greenhouse emissions) yet vitally out-funded through the commitment of big oil money (also famously very low on greenhouse emissions), any regulation or actual government action to address climate change is unneeded!

Truly a pair, paragons of ~~sustainable~~ web3/libertarian virtue!
