Wouldn't be the first time that only the fascists seem capable of articulating an economic message that resonates with the vox populi.

The Daily Show and shit that gave platforms to the ideas of the right.

There's a certain value in a show that actually lets you know these people exist, and that its not just the NicePoliteRepublican crowd in the empty suits issuing the "Why can't you just be reasonable? Socialism doesn't work!" coin-operated responses. I don't really object to Stewart playing pool with Lindsey Graham or platforming Perez Musharraf, because these are people you ultimately need to know fucking exist, even if it takes some D-list comedy dork to introduce them.

Stewart gets slack because he was the last man on television who was allowed to talk about a national anti-war movement, even as folks like Donahue and the Dixie Chicks were getting axed left and right. He was a squishy liberal with a South Park-esque juvenile homophobia, but he managed to be the most left-leaning voice in a media awash in reactionary psychosis.

But once you started to get a more active leftist media in the post-Occupy Wall Street era, what were you supposed to do with Stewart? He rapidly became a relic of his own era. Dude should have retired back in 2012, rather than getting resurrected in 2023.

You'll vote for Biden to get Healthcare and you'll receive neither.

Dude is fucking cooked in the general if these poll numbers keep up.

And Mark Penn is trying to wipe up a 3rd party contender which would be an even fucking funnier way to lose.

Can't believe a currency made up entirely of scams would come to this.

Oh well. Too bad there's no giant ledger of transactions one might leverage a regulated body against to retrieve money from fraudulent transactions.

It was shit because it was so inconsequential. It turned a bunch of creeps and dweebs into martyrs and invoked a ton of racist backlash that targeted the most isolated and vulnerable Muslim communities.

The only thing the Hebdo shooting achieved was five years of "Draw Muhammad" contests sponsored by the most vile right wing shits you could imagine.

Same with the YouTube office shooting a few years later. No material benefit. Played right into the "Taliban sleeper cells are hiding in your bushes" hysteria. And ffs, don't give the national news media an excuse to be sympathetic to YouTube.

Given this guy's track record, $5 says it's literally nothing. Just rumors and suspicions woven together into a speculation on vast conspiracies.

If it goes past "we found an IP address had touched our servers registered IN CHINA and now someone in China is doing things with a computer that only we should be able to do!!!" I'll be legit surprised.

But I'm not going to bother researching enough of this to find out.

This is my first real relationship and I can't help but feel that I've missed out on a part of myself because of it.

FOMO, particularly when you're young and at your attractive/horny peak, isn't unusual. I definitely felt this way in my first long term relationship (only two years at the time). But it does cut both ways. Moving away from an SO can create the same sense of indecision, frustration, and longing. Not being able to have it all is something young people struggle with.

Recently I've been coming to realize that monogamy has never sat right with me, but when I brought this up to him he immediately shut it down and made a comment about poly people just wanting to cheat.

That's not an unfair take, given my anecdotal experience. I've seen more than one divorce start with "let's just open up the relationship". If he's got personal experience with this (family or friends or a prior SO who broke up this way) the anxiety isn't unusual.

At some level, you have to seriously ask yourself the question of who you want to spend your time with. You can't cling to an old SO while juggling a new romance, particularly if the two people in your aspiring poly relationship don't want to be together.

Cause that's what this really boils down to. Not who you fuck, but who you come home to.

On the plus side, if you're young and you are still experimenting with your feelings, you've got time to make the wrong decision and recover.

On the negative side, experimenting can be painful no matter which way you go. Ultimately, you have to recognize that other people have their own needs, and being in a relationship isn't just about what you want. Whether that draws you together or breaks you apart is contingent on compatibility. But trying to split your time and your love between people who don't share those feelings with one another is dangerous and difficult, and prone to leave everyone feeling badly.

Trump gets to talk in giant stadiums in no small part because the crowd + cops are all on the same team.

Biden has to hide behind police because his so-called base is hostile to him and not particularly friendly with the cops.

I have to wonder if Democrats are ever going to try and do their own Friekorps, it if that's just a job for Seal Security.
