The US economy is splitting in two. There’s a rip-roaring AI economy. And there’s a lackluster consumer economy. Last quarter, spending on AI outpaced the growth in consumer spending.

Yet, the whole 'AI economy' is itself a house of cards. Companies are losing hundreds of billions and all gains are in speculative valuation. The only winner here is Nvidia, and all it does is just flip Taiwan’s chips to cash-burning companies.

Oh yeah, not trying to suggest Marx isn't worth reading.

I find that Engels in general is very much underappreciated. His writing is much easier to read than Marx in my opinion.

I generally agree, unless they make big changes, I don't see how they can stay viable. They've just become libs lite at this point.

Exactly, the elephant in the room is that the whole value proposition of the US market is the high level of consumption. However, as the country goes into a recession, consumption necessarily drops removing the main reason to trade with the US. What's worse for the US is that it's a self reinforcing phenomenon. The less people spend the less reason there is to prioritize the US as a trading partner. As suppliers find new consumers outside the US, the supply of goods to US shrinks leading to rising prices and further drop in consumption.

I'm guessing she's opportunistically positioning herself to ride the growing backlash against the west.

LMFAO the cuts are to facilitate 5% NATO spending, that's not how you make a safe and prosperous nation. This neoliberal carnie is going to rip up the fundamental social contract to fund militarism. Anybody who thinks this is going to be for the benefit of Canadians is naive beyond belief.

I'm guessing this stuff will start becoming usable within a few year.

I mean it would certainly be better if NDP framed this in the context of the overall class struggle. Unfortunately, they've effectively abandoned any talk of socialism under Singh.

That kind of human ingenuity still eludes the best neural networks.

Literally everybody steals and copies tech from everyone else. I hoped that was obvious.
