I love this ☺️, I hope you have as much fun with it as I had. If you get the chance, try it in VR too. it is one of the most enjoyable games in VR that I've played!

The author failes to mention that some of the Original creators went on and made Overload, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overload_(video_game), a modern descent version. It even supports vr (which is awesome). A bit lazy journalism tbh

Why did you think I put 'deploy' in quote then?

[–] xangadix@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

You are correct, but missing the point.

[–] xangadix@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Ow my dear, you never used flash did you? We didn't even have 'deploys' back then, we needed to re-upload the entire container file, to change some text in the footer

And the web has gotten shittier everyday Since

Hey, I've read exactly the same article 15 years ago, but back then it was Flash that "broke the web".

No. Just no. You don't get to change the problem to fit your inadequate solution.

If you want your silly little LLM to use a cli, you have to make it able to do so. If it gets lost in a fucking directory structure, your LLM is failing and you have to build a better one.

I think watching the agents use our existing command line utilities get confused and lost is a strong indicator that the information architecture of our command line utilities is inadequate

No. It's a strong indicator that LLM are bullshit technology that shouldn't be near any cli whatsoever.

I'm sorry to be so late with my reaction, but I really appreciate your time and effort to type out a thoughtfull response to my rage-post. I get where you are coming from, and salute your efforts supporting progressive politics. Your reaction initially struck me the wrong way, somehow, hence my response. I can see where you are coming from, and you are right to stand by your principles and wanting to improve the message. Still, it might have been better to make very clear where you stand and what the purpose of the initial response was, it came over, on me at least, like you found this one point and wanted to use it to invalidate Mamdani's entire platform.

money filters out useless endeavours.

That might have been true once, if ever, but it's certainly not true anymore. Actually fabulation is where most of the money is. Most 'investors' have gotten rich by accident and by an incredible amount of luck. They will tell you it was hard work, swear and blood but that is never true, it's being born in the right family and being in the right place at the time. These people aren't any smarter or better then you and me. And are just as susceptible to bullshit as you and me. Maybe even more so, because they think there exceptional skill has gotten them where they are. This means they will put there money quite easily in any endeavour that sounds plausible and/or profitable on their mind, but what usually is complete nonsense. What is more, once a few of these have put money on the table, fomo kicks in and all the bro's from the gym want in too, kicking of a cycle of complete and utter waste of money. All the while, telling everyone that this, THIS, this what the have put money on, is the next big thing.

jezus, are you a professional nitpicker or just some shill trying to discredited mr. Mamdani?

In said document he carefully explains that New York tax law is racist to begin with; https://s28299.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/CAH-tax-lien-sale-report-final.pdf, and he wants to end that system so everyone has more equal opportunities.

He wants to END racist housing policies, not start a fucking race war.
