If that sounds compelling, consider that the Chinese room thought experiment was created to argue against machine learning.

Not only does it represent an intuitive way to understand how machine learning is fake, but how masking isn’t going to change the way you handle social interactions or help you develop skills.

Our government just reauthorized section 702, which allows domestic law enforcement agencies (fbi, etc.) to conduct warrantless search for us citizens in databases created by agencies tasked with prosecuting noncitizens (cia, dhs, ins).

So the noncitizen agencies are using mass surveillance technology and techniques to create a huge database of everything and it’s fine because they don’t have jurisdiction to use it against citizens, then domestic law enforcement is allowed to go searching in it with no warrant due to a legal side door.

FBI 702 searches were used against the January 6 people though, so it’s good. Literally reauthorizing the domestic surveillance state every year because it could be used on political enemies.

To hear the spook watchers talk about it, cia is pissed because there’s an outside chance fbi will get the new toy taken away.

To expand on what another poster said, the problem people are seeing with government response is that it was never driven by a desire to accomplish any public health goal, but instead was primarily based on what the Protestant ethos would allow to be proscribed. Oh we actually need people to do things for the economy to stay running? Okay you’re allowed to go and work, but you can’t have any fun.

The only policy available to the us government was based on shame and valorization of work (not workers), so it required that people to forego any pleasure to stop the virus.

As it turns out, morality is not a very good prophylactic.

Anselmo is a white supremacist for sure, but idk about the rest of the band. After Darryl and the other brother kicked him out for being a big fuckup in a lot of ways someone shot Darryl ostensibly over it.

Idk. Pantera isn’t burzum, at best the band is an expression of party hick shit and all that comes with it.

That’s a pantera poster. He was a drummer in a metal band.

I know their posts are controversial, but we still need people to oversee the lending of books and old movies.

Without them where would old people do their taxes?

One I’ve been keeping in the ol’ back pocket for a hat trick monster inclusive party and late addition to the players is having the latecomer be from far away (bonus points if they’re a weeb doing some weeb shit) and have opposite monster prejudices from the party and their world.

dramatically swishes kimono “why are you massacring peaceful kobolds? You should be killing this disgusting goblin trash” points at party’s shaman

Lol that’s cool.

Mine was right before Obama in like peak Iraq war times and it was a fucking struggle to plan anything that didn’t seem ripped from the headlines.

Tbh probably same for a person trying to fuck with their party now. “If they weren’t enemy combatants then why were they in the dungeon?” “Mf what’s a dungeon? This is a bugbear camp”
