Thanks it's really interesting to see that there are other ways of doing things with agoraphobia.

The people I knew had moved or passed away, and then I was forced to move a few times until my spouse bought us a house. We are both introverts and no idea how to meet anyone now that we are middle aged and I'm not going out and no coworkers or family around.

Do you find it difficult to come up with conversation topics?

This lifestyle is so different from everyone else, and I can't talk about places I went, work, etc. The occasional attempts I made online to meet people kind of fizzled out since my lifestyle doesn't leave me much to talk about besides maybe meditation or reading.

Lockdown was the first time in decades with agoraphobia that I felt like I fit in with society. For once people weren't expecting me to leave the house. You got free stuff for staying home. Grocery delivery and telemedicine took off and became normal. Society praised me and everyone was doing it.

Since I was already staying home covid to me was actually an improvement in quality of life.

Funny I also have agoraphobia and never even considered doing that. Then again I don't really know anyone besides my spouse, who I met on MySpace a long time ago.

Are you meeting strangers online and telling them to come over?

Do you not find interaction with people exhausting? Could be that I have basically been at home for decades besides medical appointments.

So theoretically if we terraformed the Earth we would be free to genetically engineer humans to survive without lungs?

I was thinking that I can't imagine not immediately comprehending written words. Then I realized that I already do that in German. It takes a bit of effort. It's really surprising that so many people live their lives like that with their native language.

I honestly don't know how it can be possible, especially these days with everything done on phones and the internet. It does help me to understand the appeal of Tiktok, Instagram, YouTube, etc though.

Yes but back then most people only bought maybe 2-3 games the entire generation and traded with their friends. There was also a lot of local coop games.

Now people would like to play dozens of games and it's difficult to share, often you even need to buy two copies of a game to even play with your family in the same house.
