Not to be thát person, but Archduke Franz Ferdinand was not a Serb, he was Austrian. Even though Austria-Hungary did annex Bosnia and Herzegovina in the late 19th century, Franz Ferdinand was not born there - in fact he was born before the annexation.

Unless you mean his killer, but then your wording is a little off and I would say "murder BY a Serbian." Even so, the ethnicity of the murderer wasn't really as important as his target. ;)

Yeah seriously. Whenever I do a late or a night shift, this guy will think I'm a leeching immigrant. Or maybe he won't, because my skin isn't the right color for that?

Besides, I'm from the Netherlands and I've known more native "leechers" than immigrant ones.

I looked up Michaelmas because I had never heard of it. And it's exactly what I initially thought it was (and exactly what it sounds like): a celebration of the archangel.

You're right, always good to have a buffer.

Feldman stressed: "I don't feel like first place was taken from me. Instead, I feel like a happy day was turned ugly by a bully who is using children to make political points."

She knows what's up. Both of them are obvious winners.

I do argue that.

I argue that the people who voted for him REALLY wanted him in office and the people who couldn't be bothered to vote at all were fine with any outcome, including Trump getting into office. So they may not be rabid supporters or active voters, but yes, they do support and enable him.

You know, people often think that not picking a side is some enlightened choice, that by doing nothing you're actually doing nothing. But nothing is farther from the truth. Doing nothing IS a choice. It's a choice to stay quiet and silently accept evil. It's a choice to stay quiet in the face of injustice, it's a choice to NOT help the victim. Staying neutral always helps the bully.

And we all know this. We learned this in kindergarten. Staying quiet always helps the bully. We knew this as kids, we witnessed it. Nobody gets to pretend they don't understand this dynamic as a grown-up. It is a choice and they made it.

The load time on this is insane. But I got it signed! Not that it really helped much, both my own country and my country of residence had already reached the threshold.

But still, it's about time for an EU-wide ban on this barbaric shit.

There are plenty of people, myself included, who prefer to be corrected, because otherwise how will we learn? If nobody corrects us, we'll keep making the same stupid mistakes.

If someone doesn't want to be corrected, they are free to ignore it and to continue doing it wrong.

Have a look at this: https://newrepublic.com/article/159662/libertarian-walks-into-bear-book-review-free-town-project

It's about the book, about that town, Grafton. Great read. The book itself is great too.

Yes, you can. When you can't get off your ass to vote, then you're basically saying that you're fine with whatever happens. In this case risking fascism, which apparently was good enough for them.

By not voting, you're enabling whoever wins.

Disco Elysium is, without a doubt, the best written game I've ever played. That game had me experience the entire rainbow of emotions.
