I'm reading the broken teapot and realizing that my very tentative understanding of anarchy does not have good answers for women's issues.

First quote:

I did not want an accountability process and all the exposure and tendrils that came with it. I wanted to be left alone. I would not identify myself as a victim because I was not solely ‘a victim’. Is anyone? In their saner moments neither was my ex solely ‘a perp’,

I guess this is probably a basic concept but it sounds like that thinking would make anarchy equally or more permissive of sex crime than the current model of government?

Second point:

There is no space we can create in a world as damaged as the one we live in which is absent from violence. That we even think it is possible says more about our privilege than anything else. Our only autonomy lies in how we negotiate and use power and violence ourselves.

This might not be an anarchist issue, but for others who have arrived at this conclusion already is there a subsequent evolution in thought that follows it?

"the government is run by lizard people" I would hear this from the most deranged disheveled conspiracy weirdo and think I was better than them for not believing such an obvious falsehood. But I was wrong. All this wealth and influence, you could have helped people but instead you've chosen to prey on the weakest members of society. They've cast off their humanity, and I hope to live to see the day we put them in the ground for their crimes against us.

it's a quaint notion, but they don't need any pretense to do anything. This guy is a nobody, just enjoy his demise. This regime is sort of their victory lap after locking down the judicial and legislative branches, the only consequences they were ever going to face were the actions of heroic american insurgents.

ok that's good to know. Thankfully I'm only reliant on my phone for receiving text messages for 2FA and navigation.

I don't know anything about jailbreaking android phones yet, but are there resources for getting into doing this to my current android and taking responsibility for security myself?

this makes me wonder if vegans can pile enough money together to start doing hostile takeovers. I think it takes a lot of money, look how long it took christians to start flexing on payment processors. Would be cool to see though. Obviously this article is just peta doing some posturing, maybe someone at PETA has a kid they want to pay a salary to go to dominos meetings.

Anecdotally whenever I encounter someone from Denmark, they are always downplaying their home country and saying how great they think the USA is; I think they have a cultural propensity to try and keep Denmark a secret from outsiders.

Hey johnson & johnson, we've got a bundle of email addresses and phone numbers for another 200,000 people who mentioned to their friends and family that they've been sick in the last 48 hours to sell you.

Good question, and I just want to add my input as a framework for how to think about this:

Airplane mode is a software feature built into phones, and the idea of restricting it from connecting to the internet would work for what you want it to do; HOWEVER that requires you to TRUST the people who make the software, and I think nothing good could come from that. Smart devices have cameras, microphones, GPS technology built in; all of the tools necessary for something to spy on you exist in those devices, it is just safer to not have them at all unless you are an advanced user who can take appropriate measures.

I'm not an advanced user, so I leave my devices at home when I want to minimize my risks. Paranoid? Sure, but it's not a constant anxiety inducing fear of being tracked, I see it more as a basic safety measure like wearing sunscreen or carrying an umbrella.

There are no consequences present for the criminal actions taken by members of the elite class; it stands to reason that reminding them that they are still beholden to us, the lower members of society, even if the justice system is not working, is the best course of action.

Just looking for ways to get involved with my community at the local level. Seems like the kind of thing you have to ask around for.
