If a person thinks more people should see an unpopular opinion, they snould upvote it. Theres no karma here. The function of up and down vote is promotion or relegation.

An upvote means that the content should be shared, a downvote means it should not.

Tits! We can make that happen for you!

I got consistent when I got a 5 year journal. Each page is one day, divided into five sections. Seeing that I would be revisiting it next year really helped motivate me, and reading previous years entries helps even more. Now I have several journals, and for the other ones, I either write in it when I do my 5 year, or I keep it open and jot in it all the time. The trick often is to just write something in it, and then its easier to keep going.

Also think about why you are journaling. Self reflection? Set an alarm. Memories? Read back in your old entries. Planning? Make it front and center so you look at it right away.

I don't have the privacy concerns, so this other bit might not help as much, but I also use stuff thats pleasant to use. It does't have to be luxury, but try going up a step. For paper, skip moleskin and look for a rhodia, leuchterm, or midori notebook. For pens, try a fountain pen like a platinum preppy, pilot kakuno, ot lamy safari. If you prefer ballpoint, skip the cheap ones ans get a Uni Signo gel pen or Pentel Energel gel pen. Having nicer stuff can really help motivate cause its nice to use.

in computer science, we talk about a mathematical construct called a machine. Different kinds of machines can solve different problems, and the turing machine is the most powerful. It can solve any problem that can be solved by a machine.

Turing machines operate one step at a time, with each step taking the same amount of time. The total number of steps it takes to solve a problem is the time, of that machine.

Some problems have a fixed number of inputs, like "list all the states". These machines have a fixed time. We call this constant time.

Others can have a variable number of inputs, like add up an arbitrary list of numbers. The longer the list is, the longer this takes.

An interesting, and important question is, how fast does the time of a machine go up as we add more inputs?

There are to major groups: the machines were the time goes up in a polynomial way (called P) and the ones were it goes up faster (called NP for non-polynomial). This means, for some machines, you can describe the time with an equation like time=inputs^n where n is any number.

A conjecture is that actually, all problems (that can be solved ) have a machine that can do in P time, thus all NP problems are actually P problems if we find the right machine.

This is important because much of our secret codes and other inportant things that we use today rely on those NP problems, which are really hard to solve. But if it turns out that they are P problems after all, there can be easy solutions.

Mad Max is the film series about what if civilization broke down and only the worst tendancies were left.

The original disaster was nuclear war, but even if it had been climate change, the cars and fire guitars are appropriate. Mad Max is about what if the people who caused the disaster stayed in charge.

See also Water World. Its a common theme for post-apocolyptic media

being born rich isn't merit either, but it has lasting inpacts on HS grades, SAT scores, and placement in scholarly competitions. How do you propose to ensure schools aren't full of people who just bought their way in?

What is merit? How do you measure it?

Swords were a personal defense status symbol. They were fairly expensive, required training, and were often legally restricted deoending when and where we are talking about. This is why they continue to have sich mystique.

Most peope who needed self defense used a stick

Even if the inequality is completely accidental, shouldn't we do something about it? Like, we don't have to make everyone millionares, but if the system accidently makes some people suffer, shouldn't we try to change that?
