I'm looking to subscribe to some peertube channels and not go to youtube for entertainment.

Which ones do you recommend? Thanks in advance

Edit It can be for anything. For example gardening, news, tech, etc.

I'm aware that carrying a phone means that I can be tracked with cell towers and that's fine.

But is there some sort of tracking that can be done on modern dumb-phones that make relevant ads show up(on spotify/youtube) that are based on where the phone has been?

Thanks I'm a newb

I would hang out with myself and get a lot done. We'd code an app, make a podcast for antisocial people, and plant trees.

We'd agree to use the same encrypted messenger.

I've never been good at socializing and it just makes me exhausted.

What encrypted messenger do you use most that isn't Zucking Meta's Whatsapp and Signal?

Edit Also, besides iMessage and RCS. Sorry thanks

How resilient I've proven to be. I feel like I've been held down all my life but I got a college degree and now I'm going back for another one. I owe a lot of it to new family members.

Love yourself and other people

Some might say that no one needs LinkedIn at all but there are some jobs that people struggle to attain so they get on LinkedIn. I have noticed though that I've mostly seen users who are in things like tech, marketing, business, and blue collar jobs on that platform. I didn't see many people on there who work in medical professions but it could have just been a tailored experience for me. Are there career fields where you wouldn't even think about making a LinkedIn?

Thank you much for your help

I tried deleting the AppImage but I know there are leftover files because when I downloaded a new AppImage and opened it, I was automatically logged in. I can't find the folder where the leftover files are. Does someone know? Thanks in advance

Okay thanks. I'm thinking of sticking with deb packages also at the moment because a lot of apps on the flathub website say "Unverified"

Okay thanks Gimp says version 2.10 so they'll be deb packages

I just installed Debian with the KDE desktop and I'm looking to see what kind of packages are available in the Discover store by default as they are not labeled i.e., Snaps/Flatpak. Should I install Flatpak? Thanks I don't to break anything

Basically, my entire system is FOSS but I'm tempted to install the Spotify .deb package. Would that give Spotify access to info about my system?

If you're seeking something simple to use where you may never need to open the terminal, I'd say ZorinOS(Lite).

You can also test out Debian if you don't mind a bit of tinkering on the terminal. You'll have to add yourself as a user to the sudoers list first thing but there are plenty of 2-second video tutorials on how.

For both distros, if you are searching for support, you'd search "on Ubuntu" and basically the same would apply.

Okay thanks. Would gufw be installed alongside ufw?

Are there any suggestions for a firewall with an easy GUI? I want to open a port for kde connect so i can use sms and fling my phone to the back of the room. Thanks in advance

I think most people on Mastodon are over 30

Hi, I want to make memes but I want to use those funny characters for example in Linux memes. They are the ones where it looks like someone drew them by hand. Is there a website where I can find and download them? Thanks in advance

I'm on Debian 12 KDE and i need to update the clock to Arizona time but it's not available.

Honestly, it won't even let me change it to California time. After entering my password it denies my request.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Edit Neither my user or root password works for this

I want to have a dual-boot laptop where half is Windows and half is Debian. If i encrypt Debian during installation, will it break Windows? I just want to be safe. Thanks in advance
