So wie ich das verstanden habe (aber natürlich keinerlei Garantie dass das wirklich so gemeint war, insgesamt halt ein bisschen ein Schrottartikel) ist, wie auch andere hier schon vermutet haben, dass es nicht um‘s Training geht sondern einen Testbetrieb. Haben einige hier schon gesagt, aber ich mag das auch nochmal unterstreichen: Absolute Empfehlung für Brother. Konkrete Modellempfehlung hab ich keine, das hängt natürlich von deinem konkreten Budget und den Anforderungen, die du hast, ab (Ob Duplex-fähig, integrierter Scanner, Farbe oder S/W etc). Ich persönlich habe einen LD2350DW und bin sehr zufrieden damit. Tonerkartusche hält bei meinem Verbrauch (ebenfalls Selten-Drucker) ewig und sogar wenn nachbestellt werden muss sind die Preise verglichen zu anderen Anbietern sehr fair und auch 3rd party Produkte werden meines Wissens nach problemlos akzeptiert (looking at you HP).

Thanks for your response! It's a very good explanation of the concept of federation, although that wasn't what I meant. I get why switching between instances of a certain platform (like Lemmy) can make sense, for the reasons you mentioned. But not what the differences are between having an account on Lemmy vs. Mastodon for example, if they're interconnected.
